ok i have to complain abt ONE thing on IP relay they speed up too fast when i want to give them instructions they speed and dailed i had to BITCH them out to stop doing that many times

I would have to say VRS cuz you get all the information up to date but with TRS you would have to wait for the information and then requested to spefic number to push then the operator would have to redial the number. In the past I have experience that the operator either tell me that the line was busy or hang up since they dont want to go thru too much hassle going thru all the different number to push. I sometimes get pissed but with VRS you can see the operator and knowing the converstation goes smoothly and sometimes get to know the person. :D

I like both IP Relay services and Sorenson VP, but I use IP-Relay way more often.

For the VRS, you have to be at home or at friends' home in order to use it. Cool and faster communication but have to wait longer for the availabilty of the interpreter. That's a nag!

With the IP Relay, you can use it anywhere and at home. And their interpreters pop in quite much faster response to your call compared with VRS! Also you can use them on your pager or pc anywhere, anytime. I think it stays the top for a long time to come.

TDDs are about becoming a relic nowadays .. mine is already is so. You have to pay for the telephone service bills and use TDD here. Only its effective is the 911 numbes in case of emergency. Probably that TDDS will stay on for the old-timers or pc illeraters. lol

Good Qestion on post Tabby17 !! :)(Y)
I like use all in one in mobile device with 4G videocall vrs, call direct tty to tty and Ip relay!! For the moment i like vrs wow worthly coz of perfect communicate than tty relay! That happen to me when i call my custom for arrange meeting the relay tty gave me his or her address but wrong number address I was mad often tty relay!!!
I believe caused tty scrable device!! could be missepell!!! only way better than nothing!! So for vrs is much better and less misunderstand!! :/

I favor VRS because they benefit both end of callers. I generally know that most hearies hate TRS because they are insanely slow to have verbal conversation with. My deaf co worker told me he don't need VP. I asked him, how many times hearies have hang up on you though TRS? His response was, oh yea! PLENTY of times! I then told him, this almost never happened to me though VRS!!! He said really? I said yes, it is free what you gotta to lose?

So, I better suggest you to do research on hearing people who experienced both TRS and VRS and get info about their experience. I can bet that the result would be surprisily favoring the VRS and their response will shock plenty of deafies.

One of hearing AD member who works for TRS was very impressed with the quality of VRS when he first experience recieving the VRS call.
How do I get TRS or VRS

I do rather to use the VRS to call people unless if I feel in mood to calling someone on another relay then I will. Just depend on my mood.

I prefer ip because I type fast than I sign. lol.

Well.. Let saying, when I use fingerspell my address or number or something, it's slow and I type much quick.

and I able to make message in advance before I actual to make call with relay to call the service. I strong use terminal program with ip-relay. It's more quick I ever had than tty and videophone.

I prefer to call over IP because no charge on phone bills, just like VoIP.

TTY sucks... It will going be die in near future due start fading out.

Never tried on VRS before then not know.

What are you waiting for? Get VideoPhone.. :)+

Once you experience Videophone you would wonder why you wasted so much time on TTY and IPrelay.

The truth is that Videophone is much clarity, much faster, actually more than 10 times faster than TTY and you get to speak your natural language though VRS.

I only use IP relay if I have no choice and it is considered last resort.

Finally the demand for Videophone has exploded, so is VRS had exploded much faster than TRS. Why exploding That is because once deaf touch it, its over and that kills TTY effectively.

Believe it or not, even though FCC paid around $6.75 per minute for VRS, while FCC paid around $1.90 per minute for TRS, statistic shows it is still CHEAPER for FCC to pay VRS than TRS, how can this be true? 5 minutes of VRS conversation equals 50 minutes of conversation, and it cost 95 dollars for TRS verses $33.75 for VRS, both for same amount of information or conversation!
So, please give Videophone a try, I can bet you won't regret at all, and would be likely thank me, like I thanked my best friend for pushing me to get VideoPhone.

I think the best "relay" is the one my wife and I have......no details due to the sensitive nature of the information. :giggle:

IP relay is my preference becasue it allow me to receive calls anytime from hearing folks without worrying about if I am clean or dressed to face to face the VP Relay Interpeter.

However when I call out to hearing folks sometime I do use VP Relay but most of the time I make quick calls and IP relay is faster for me on short calls rather than waiting for avaiable VP interpeter. Long calls I will use VP relay.

I like both IP and VP relay but I use IP relay most of the time and all my incoming calls goes to IP relay via Computer AIM or My Moblie phone AIM.

I have not used TTY for like almost over 10 years. I don't even know if my TTY still work LOL!

For a hearing impaired? Nope! Can't use VRS.

Have to Learn ASL (despite only the basic words)... Tallahassee Community College doesn't offer an ASL course... :(

After I learn ASL, I can be able to practice using VRS so I can benefit every hearing people...

If I have CapTel (Captioned Telephone), I'll be tied to VoIP...

it's illogal on amount of communicate between teletype and video.

5 minutes on video is pretty equal as 10 to 15 minutes in type. For me, it's less than 4 minutes in type. :)

BTW, it's $1.31/min on TRS and $6.44/min on VRS.

Oh, I'm happy with IP so enough.

I don't need VRS, even no reason to get one.

I have VP, but hardly use it that much. I think I need to be confident with my signs before I use VP more. I do use signs but not fluent enough like deaf people.

I used to use SprintIP often until more recently. They just keep me and other parties waiting for several seconds more. I have gone back to Verizon IP-Relay and AT&T.

I tried Hawk Relay twice but wasn't impressed with them.
