When you walk in or out of store then the alarm goes beep beep beep

I have been told by numerous places that it's my cell phone. The stores are supposed to reset the machines daily and if they forget, it's the cell phones that set them off.
 
I always set the alarms off at futureshop and best buy... My friend who works there took all my hearing aid stuff out and imporant stuff like fm wallet etc and put my purse on the de magnitizer thing and no more beeping:) I've been stopped and yelled at by a bus driver once cuz i didn't "properly" show my bus pass to him..he started yelling at me and grabbed me and my bf at the time was like SHES DEAF U ASSHOLE TAKE UR HANDS OFF HER! he was very pissed off as was I...he called and complained too and told them that there bus drivers should have more respect!

Oh really, Geez...Yeah, that bus driver is totally stupid and for disrespect you. I'm sorry that happened to you.
 
Happened once on the day of my CI activation when I came out of Walgreens the alarm went off! It was so embarrassing; those folks thought I was upto something!

I don't believe it's not come from my ha's. Probably comes from someone else did that steal or forgot to take a security tag off at the same time when u walked out of that door. I can hear many times from security alarm when every time I look around apparels dept nearby doors, I can see shoplifter there it was too obvious.

LOL... Absolutely understandable! I don't wear HA or CI. It happened me couple times. What helps me to assure myself,

1. At your checkout counter, inspect your bags (All of bags) to be sure nothing is subjected to be suspect. (Play cool, pretend that you make sure that you have car keys or wallets.) That helps the Cashier that you "did" check your bags. Always, have your receipt in your hand when exiting the store or a place.

2. Stand aside the exit door for couple seconds, pretend studying your receipt in your hand.

3. Start walking slowly... Observe people around you, recognize behaviors. If nothing alert, Go ahead to your next shopping or to your car. If people are alerted and staring at you, Observe behind you to see anybody approach you, BE COOL. Your receipt in your hand is easy to show and prove.

If they speak to you, you shake your head, point your ears, and say in your sign language IMMEDIATELY, no matter if they understand you signing, just sign, "What? Where? What? What happened, what's matter, Sorry I dont understand." Keep signing and remind them to get paper and pen in sign language. Be persistent signing. They will GET A BIG HINT!

Be cooperative, offer them your bags to inspect. Be cool and smile, that reduce the whole drama. If resisting, the drama will go crazy, and its possible for them to call security officers, at worst, policemen!!

(I used to work as sales associate for 3 years. And I know how customers felt.)
 
it's certainly happening over here, a few Ci's have been complaining in the press of the embarassment of being stopped in front of evryone when the alarm goes off due to their implant, i was given a card to show people when i got mine in the event of it happening, but it has never happened to me, I always wondered why, untill the last time I was in shop and turned round to look at the sensors, being so tall my implant will be well above them, so a tip to any thieves out there, put the loot under yer hat:roll:, unless of course ye 5 ft nothing then ignore me:roll:
 
i went to store that dont matter at me

when i shopping dvds and im forgot somethings to get out dues alarm but then again recheck of dvds makes sure not noise or alarm from store include walmart,bestbuy,etc.

i never thief at stores nope but first times 2 man who work at walmart tell me show my purse its dvd from walmart its stealing? i says NO! its library dvds that i rent dvds! but man says OH! he let me go! its really embrassment.

i know its serious at walmart and bestbuy have security reasons they have alarm or not its so important.
 
It happened to me at macy's in Florida. I was told to step aside and they search my bags but could find anything. I had to leave the bags and go thru the detectors again, once again the alarm goes off. The manager comes out (They made me feel like a criminal). Eventually they found nothing and I'm good to go. Must've been my hearing aids don't ya think?
 
Yes, It does happened to me once time. Me and my husband went to Walmart. He bought a memory card for cellphone and digital camera. We walked to lane and bought it. He showed a receipt to security what he spend on memory cards. The security said ok and let us go. My husband heard the beep from alarm. The security thought my husband steal the stuff. Then security checked on my purse. She looked at my HA on. She said sorry and let us go. She smiled at me. I was embarrassing because everyone look at me through alarm.

Or... you stepped on a security sticker. ;)

There was a time when my mom bought a bunch of clothes at a local department store.

When she got home, she found that one of her outfits still had one of those security locks on it. So, she went back to the store to have it removed.

When she walked in, the alarm went off. She wondered why it didn't go off the first time and they explained that since she bought so many clothes before, the security lock was under a lot of clothing and wasn't detected when she left the store.


A co-worker took about 10 security strips from a store that I worked at. (It's those clear tapes with a metal strip in the middle and is about 1.5" in long.) Since they work at almost any security point, he would secretly tape them on different people at different stores and watch as they set off the alarm and attracting attention. ;)
 
Never tripped the security alarms, but I can use my CI t-coil to sniff out hidden security traps!

I don't know if your question was directed at me, but I switch my CIs to T-coil mode and when I do that, I can tell when the lights are on in my apartment. :D
