I'll start:

1. FF8, Heavy Rain, Big Little Planet, Mario 3, Silent Hill 3, Alice Madness Returns, Flower, Zelda (N64 version), Skyrim... the list goes on lol
2. Going to go with Sock guy on Big Little Planet
3. Mostly RPGs, fantasy, horror/mystery games
4. PS3
5. Nothing atm.... waiting for my check to get a PS3 again ^_^

I'd tick everything on your poll (except the Wii, never had one) so I'll leave it alone. Your questions:

1. GTA San Andreas, Transport Tycoon, ArmA2, Skies of Arcadia, Radar Mission, Battlefield 1942
2. Of all time, Roger Wilco in the Space Quest games. More recently, I really liked Zimos in Saint's Row 3 and Bernadette Mataki in Gears of War 3 (though her role in the books was much bigger)
3. Simulators (plane, train, truck, car, motorcycle, don't care)
4. lately it's PC, and in terms of total hours of my life spent on it too, probably
5. Skyrim, Neocron (it's back!), Railworks TS2013, Sleeping Dogs, OpenTTD, Minecraft
6. Etrian Odyssey 4, but I'm waiting for my Pikachu Edition 3DS XL to come next week.
7. Anything involving aircraft. Best pilot among my friends in any game.
8. Time Pilot on the Colecovision (I still have it)

10. INTERACTIVE escapism. I don't watch TV or go to many movies, or read many books, or sports. Sitting as a passive observer as opposed to being an active participant is boring to me. In a way it's helped me in real life because it's given me a 'I want to try doing that myself!' attitude.

my son keeps asking me to play with him, xbox. i often get dead from that game. i am an old gamer. lol

Meh, there are too many to list 'em. Lol. Well, I would say The Sims series, considering it is my most favorite so far.

2. Favorite Character?
Lara Croft, Clementine, Lee Everett, Aya Brea, and my own Sims. lol EDIT: Harry from Silent Hill, Reks from Final Fantasy 12, Sephine from Final Fantasy 8, and I can't think of more characters... It's so many of them.

3. Favorite Genre?
Action, Adventure, Survival Action or Horror, Horror, Fantasy, and Role-Playing.

4. Favorite Platform?
PS3

5. Currently Playing?
Two days ago, I played From Dust.

6. Wish I was Playing?
None. I have a plenty of time to play it someday, anyway.

4. Favorite Platform? (discussed above) PC. I'm usually really behind in the graphics, but I've got a gigantic selection, so it makes up for it.

I'm hating all the subscription based games. Once you buy a game it should be free to play online.

Sadly, because of the piracy, software companies are making more and more subscription games.

A lot of games are free-to-play with subscription and premium models (DDO, SWTOR etc.) so no one really loses out on the deal. Generally I think the ones you buy will let you set up private online games, or have free online server matchups.

Some (like GW2) have free online play but you have to buy the game.

Depends on what game... If the game developers keep up with updates, goodies, free upgrades, etc... Like iRacing does, then it's worth it.

It should be one or the other. That, at least, seems to have changed: I remember the bad old days of buying an MMORPG and then having to pay the monthly sub too.
