JamieLynn, that sounds really cool, I enjoy trying foods from different places-

Chicken and Turkey Chili with organic light red kidney! :D

Michelina's Budget Gourmet- some vegetarian variety, orange juice, milk.

Home-made tomatoe sauce with pasta and brussels sprouts :D I know, weird combination but veggies are a must!

JamieLynn, I've eaten that combo many times, doesn't seem weird to me at all:wave:

Soy crumbles in a mexican throwtogether with black beans, corn and rice. Corn bread on the side with peaches, and angel food cake with mixed berries. Tea and water for the different family members.

Ended up not eating. Too mad at hubby and refusing food for the night. He even brought home ice cream from work (he works for and ice cream manufacturer (Rich's) and I'm refusing anything from him. I will be sleeping on the couch I'm so mad.

Green beans, rice, mei fun noodles, pineapple, milk , and old fashioned Hershey bar.

Could not wait. I had to thaw the turkey bones and make soup with rice and vegetables. It is cold here and the soup was rich, warming and scrumptious.

I thought you were in Texas? In Iowa it was so warm I had to turn on the car air conditioner when we went to the store around noon today!

Was tired. Didn't want to cook. Chopped onions, pork chunks, rice all in one pot.

Needs BBQ sauce. -_-

I am in West Texas, and it is 41 degrees. We keep the heat set to save energy. I am wearing a blanket like a shawl. It is raining, cold, and I think I want to move to Iowa. Didnt you used to live in El Paso? Didnt it get cold there?

I lived in El Paso for 8 years. In the morning the kids went off in coats to school, and in the afternoon dragged the coats home while sweating in t-shirts.

I had a rule they had to wait for March 1st to wear shorts. We had one wall heater for the whole house, and didn't use it that much.

But if you hate cold Iowa will not be for you, I think later this week it is supposed to have highs of 22 and maybe snow.

So I will soon be suffering too. :)

Brrrr!! I do hate the cold. I hope when it is cold in Iowa that you will have plenty of good veggie soup to keep you toasty and cozy.

41 degrees at this time of year is warm for us, yesterday was close to 50 and I was outdoors practicing Tai Chi w/friend of mine.
Last night had veggie chili w/several different kinds of beans, tvp and cherry tomatoes in it, apple and sprouted grain tortilla-

Pumpkin soup and then tomato / mozzarella / shrimp salad :D YUM!
