hm, I'm thinking about buying a nice bottle of patron reposado...

 How did you lose so much weight? Tips please!

I don't mean to bring this up, but it was due to my bipolar. I had several depressive episodes and did not eat. My GP and psychiatrist said it was a mixed blessing because while eating wasn't good for me, it did help me go from being a pre-diabetic at 157 down to my current weight of 114.

Having said that, I do eat healthy (with the exception of last week :giggle:) and run on my treadmill 7 days/week for an hour per day. I also do not drink alot of caffeine and have protein drinks (like Carnation Instant Breakfast) whenever I don't feel like eating. When I snack, I eat a bowl of Honey Nut CHeerios or plain Cheerios so that helps cut down on my overall intake of food. I need to eliminate sugar from my diet due to my bipolar because it can cause me to become excitable/manic. Sorry to mention that, but it's the truth. I really do need to be careful of that, so it's something I watch out for.

I wish I had some other helpful tips to share with you! I know losing weight isn't easy! :)

Tonight I'm having homemade lasagna and garlic bread topped with cheese. It happens to be one of my favorite meals. :D

I just ate salad and baked chicken :)

Ohhh OK. I guess that there was a plus to it considering the amount of weight you lost! :) If you were pre-diabetic at 157, I must be pretty close to diabetic.

I have a family history of diabetes and one of the meds I take for bipolar can cause diabetes.

Now that I'm back down to 114, I'm no longer considered pre-diabetic, but I still need to be careful because I'm on a very high dose of the med that raises blood sugar.

Therefore, I make sure to test my blood sugar every week with a "talking" glucose monitor. I'm not required to do this, but my GP thinks it's a good idea so we can catch any problems early should they arise.

I also try to be very mindful about diabetes because I had
2 very good friends with juvenile diabetes and I saw what they went through if they were not given orange juice or candy if they started experiencing an insulin reaction.

Tonight I plan to have mashed potatoes, corn, meat loaf, rice and a chocolate protein drink.

Chicken pot pie, orange juice, cherries.

I'm cooking now....BBQ ribs, fried rice, green beans, creamy sweet potatoes, rolls & tea....be ready within the hour!....Stop by....I'll try to throw ya a BBQ rib bone!.....

Beef Stromangi...:)

We're going to have Italian dinner tonight.

My BF will be having eggplant, his favorite dish.
And I'll be having chicken marsala.

I just had grilled chicken and organic whole wheat w/herbs and flax seeds and a bottled water

left over. Chicken, with egg noodles I made last night. Will throw in some corn on the cob.

Stuffed steak with grilled mushrooms and onions, and broccoli.
