I had a very blah day at work but I did stay over an extra hour to clean up to make some extra money on my paycheck. It was a mad rush but not as bad as I thought it would be.

I just like two more payments on my loan and I am done YIPPEE!! I am counting down. Once that is done I plan on saving up around 2-3 thousand for a nice down payment on a new truck then possibly start loking to get a job at Con Agra which is very good money compared to where I am currently working now. The reason I need to get a new truck before going to work for Con Agra is because it is a 45 minute commute every day and my current vehicle is not up to that.

I just hope no major catastrophes happen between now and then and I absolutely will not quit my current job until I have signed the papers for the ConAgra job and they have told me to show up and be ready to work.

What sort of job do you work for the new position, Dixie?

Its the same type of assembly-line work but the pay and benefits are WAY WAY better than what I am currently getting working in the poultry buisness. ConAgra is in the buisness of making TV dinners, microwave popcorn, peanut butter, etc. Just about anything you could buy at your local grocery store (In the US anyways).

I have a cousin that currently works there and she says it is easier than any poultry plant she has been in. (She's worked for the same poultry companies I have as well as my current one.) And the temperatures aren't as extreme as they are in poultry plants either.

The starting pay at ConAgra is more than what I'll ever make at my current company. The drawback however is they work 13 days on with one day off. the 6th and 13th days are time and half (meaning your hourly pay plus half of that in addition) and the 7th (14th days if you volunteer to work that extra day) is double time meaning your hourly pay is double that day.

But for me the pros outwiegh the cons due to the fact that I need a way to pay for college since I am intent on returning and finishing my degree.

My plan is to work 3rd shift (the overnight) and go to school part time during the day carrying no more than 8-10 hours per semester and take classes during the summer term.
And if possible take some online classes provided through the school so Im not away from home so much between work and school as it is.

I have confirmed with a friend who appears that he would be my new landlord and I am moving out, moving into an apartment that he owns, he is moving out to a bigger house with his girlfriend. So I'm moving in March. Accords right now, I am saving all the money for rent and other stuff when I move out. :D

ah apartment living - sounds nifty but not for me mate. But I guess its better than living at home with mum and dad rent free. :D

(actually I do plan on moving out when Ive become financially stable again but its going to be a while.)

I know it would be good, but the house is full with 5 kids running around, and I am the eldest, so I need to get out of the madhouse ;)

Dixie,

Hope things go very well for you. I know it's a great feeling when you see that you are about to pay off a loan. I hope nothing major happens to you also before you able to reach your goal of saving up money. I know it's not easy. I've never been good at saving money but that is a goal I plan to change this year. Good Luck with your goals this year.

Travis

Hello! I am back---- :) but had been sooo sick with a bad cold.... so I'm resting!

Hi I have been around but was sick for 2 days due to stomach virus. I didn't get a good night sleep at all Saturday night due to throwing up and diaherra. I had to call TJ's father to come and get TJ so I could sleep. After TJ left around noon, I finally went to bed and slept the whole afternoon/evening away. I couldnt figure out why I was still weak and I finally figured out that my potassium is delepted. I had to take my pills for that to build up my system now I'm good to go! Whew! :) I am much better but there is still soreness around my chest. grr i will live! hehe!

Dixie yeah everyone are ok here, thank goodness. Dont get me wrong. I love Natural Phenomena so tornado is one of them but I hate to hear about the damages tornadoes caused. I used to have many videos of tornado that I saved by copying off TV. I would watch it over and over for hours! I had seen more than 20 funnel clouds in my lifetime. I have seen 15 or more tornado touching down. Ah thats the life in Tornado Alley.. eh.. ;)

I hope all of you have a great day! :)

i will see my dr this afternoon check up and dr will tell me abt stones.. after that i am going food shopping what we need for home.. smiles..

Thanks!! I need that! lol it drove me crazy when I cough.. grrrrr but getting better! :) TB

oh yea i undy how ur feeling.. 2 yrs ago, i been cough for 2 months it made me mad shesh.. i never forget abt tthat.. i am glad that u getting better smiles..

I just found out today that me and my mother both have to work on Saturday so we are running around trying to arrange for a babysitter for Saturday as well as Monday (it is MLK Day).

My aunt or my grandmother will likely keep her, so its no big deal on who is going to watch her, its more of which one is available to watch her lol.

Also the monitor went out on the desktop computer (Im on my laptop) and so since we are going to get a new computer soon anyway, dad decided to borrow a monitor from one of his coworkers. He brought it home, oh my goodness it was HUGE! It was one of those 17 inch CRT monitors, the monitor alone is 3-4 times the size of my laptop, and greatly outweighed it as well. I was like 'Dad, my goodness that looks like something from the stone age!' After I said that I just realized how much technology has changed, especially in th last 10 years where it has really taken off. We've gone from just computers hooked up on 14.4K Trumpet Winsock modem, with really bad JPEGs, to now having slim laptops with wireless high speed internet with video, music, and movies. Does anyone remember the 'olden days' of the internet?

I remember mIRC chats, using the IBM PS/1 computer with WinX on it (predates the 'start bar') and the HUGE 5 inch floppy disks, and playing Oregon Trail on the Original Apple Mac machines at my schools computer lab. Anyone else?

Oh no! Im sorry to hear that your young un' has been sick with the stomach virus. Those are definitely not fun, even if you are the mom having to watch your child go through that. Maddie has had it once in her life when she was 2, we kept giving her pedialyte and cackers. We had to go through that for 3 days, oh my it was work just keeping up with her! I felt so awful when she was having throw up because she would just cry like she had done something bad.

I got my Sidekick 3 back in my hands today - fully repaired and all good to be used again :D
