What will you do with your tax refund?

We got state refund then we paid state refund and our own saving $$$ back to Federal. Oh well.
 
Even if I do get my tax refunds, I'd not be able to get it because it goes to the federal loan that I had for college. I'm fine with that because at least, it will help the balance go down a little.
 
Will get back to y'all later as I do qualify for the rebate however I'm not counting on it til I see it in my account then I'll decide at that point where exactaly it should go.

With the way gas prices are going...my refund will probably end up in the gas tank!
 
I remember when I was in my early 20s, my and my friend's refunds went to entertainment or savings. It seems like nowadays, most people's refunds go to paying bills or paying for gas. Does it seem that way?

Yes, I know that other people do pay taxes. :P I just felt outnumbered by all the posters celebrating their refunds.
 
Back on on topic: Will apply the refund toward opening new CDs/IRA and leftovers to savings. Paid high taxes in Norway, getting refund from Norway. Appropriate that I would use some money from an old life to start a new life :)
 
to pay some CC bills :( at least one of them is zero and I closed their acct
 
We will get our refund very soon. We will need buy new clothes and fix my car. Wink

Oh yea? Maybe next year, I will get a refund. My tax preparator said that we need to change the tax exempt on our paychecks but we cant afford it cuz Maryland's cost of living is just ridiculously high. It seems like it is a no-win situation for us. We bought a house and have 2 children to claim but still for the 2nd year in a row, we owe the IRS. I dont know what to do to change it. *sighs*

Reba, your not outnumbered for paying taxes. I have to pay taxes ugh! I know that money can be used for better things but that's what I have to do each year as a freelance intepreter. I will get a small portion back might have to save that up for taxes that I must pay for being self-employeed.
 
we got ours in early March and bought a new clothes washer and a filtered water tank for drinking water. We also payed for this years work visa for my husband to immigration which was $340.00. My husband is a legal immigrant from England who pays taxes all year long and takes care of me and all my medical instead of me being on a full disability check and government paying for all my medical and living expenses but yet they still make him pay a bunch of money every year to have the right to work here and live here and pay taxes here and he can't even benefit from the taxes he pays. he is not eligible for medicare or anything because he still has not received his green card after paying all the dues and done everything asked for the last eight years. they sent us a letter when we first applied for residency for him that stated they would contact us withing three years from the date of that letter for us to go to Atlanta to have "the interview" and declare him as a citizen. well 5 years after the three year waiting has ended we are still waiting for that letter and all the immigration people has told us is "sorry keep paying your taxes you can't benefit from and pay your work visa for the government to keep screwing you over and we will continue to sit here and think about sometime contacting you about being permanent. who knows we may retire off your money and forget all about you having to pay in every year and deny you any chance of going home to visit your family while we do it." I hate immigtration, they make money off the ones that are here for the right reasons and do everything by the book but the illegals get all our tax money and work under the table and suck. It isn't just illegal mexicans its all the illegals living off our welfare that pisses me off.
