The mayor in my city want to raise the fine from $10 to a $100 for dog owners that do not pick after their dogs. How much is the fine in your town or city? Is more than $100 , I think is rather high. I do pick up after my dog. I was just wondering what the fine was in other places.

I'm not laughing at you, I'm just laughing at the title of this thread. We really chat about everthing around here don't we.

Holy crap I just looked up my city and it is $500.

LOL @ this thread...

Anyway, I looked up and over here there's different reglementation when it comes to dog owners. There's no specific price regarding poop out on the street because each commune seems to have their con reglementations

Yearly tax for dog owners (per dog) is 35 Euros.
Infrigement on the different above mentioned reglementations varies between 20 Euros and 500 Euros.

I'm sure that there has to be a panel regarding this at the entrance of the park. I can check that one later out for you ;)

Not sure about my city....I've never heard of anyone paying a fine or going to court over dog poop, but I've seen neighbors fighting about it. We do have signs posted to clean up after ur pet, even baggies in machines to do this in certain areas. We use them, a lot of people don't and it seems to be mainly those with big dogs.

As for my 10 lb. Pomeranian, the poop is very small and easily discarded. Nothing ruins my day more than to step into dog shyt!

IT IS $75 IN THE HOUSTON CITY LIMITS BUT BECAUSE HOUSTON IS SOOOOO BIG EACH OF THE OUTLAYING CITIES HAVE THEIR OWN, SO IT VARIES. AND YES, PEOPLE HAVE GONE TO COURT OVER ALLOWING UNCONTROLED DOG POOP AND FREE-ROAMING DOGS GET PICKED UP AND FINE $125 (first time).

I think it is $200 here. I can tell you that I have only violated it once, but had a reason. Took her for our nightly stroll. Had one of those red hydrant things on the leash, with a roll of bags. Well, she found the perfect spot, spun a circle, dropped a pile. No worries, I unroll the bags; last one? Oh boy. Anyhow, all is going well until she started to spin the familiar circle again about half a mile further, after I had disposed of the filled bag. And this time, it was nothing but pure mud, a syrupy like substance which quickly fell into the grass. Cars are driving past, and I have nothing to use. I sheepishly left that pile, feeling guilty as heck. Thankfully, it began to rain later that evening, and my crime evidence was washed away.

£75 here

Yep, same here. But I don't think they are patrolling the parks as they are supposed to do, the peak times when the dogs are about are around 6 to 10 in the morning and 3 to 7 in the evenings and there is so many dogs in the park and not a patrol in sight, the whole time i have lived here (4 yrs) there is so many people i had to approach and give poop bag, they are 75p for 300, so cheap and most certainly cheaper than fine!!! it's just laziness. If it's too dark.... use a torch, use common sense for godness sake.
Kids play football on the park, adults holds saturday football matches weekly, it's play ground for the kids as well as adults also with the dogs so they can have the pleasure but I had to dodge a lot of piles!!

poop bags are for free around town here but you can also buy them (pretty cheap though) in the grocery store!

Oh and I looked at the sign... Out on the street you get a fine of 25 Euros, and in the parks and playgrounds the fine can go up to 100 Euros! Better use a crap bag.

Then again I also want to put out that I have never seen patrol in the park either! I'm there frequently on summer days since it's right next door! Also our town has a very good public cleaning service and many people use poop bags... I only once had to tell one guy to pick it up! It was right next to the sandpit!!! Oh and yes, kids were busy playing there!!!! *frustrated groan*

Thank goodness for those fines.

I've had my moments when I stepped in fresh dog doo-doo. It's just not cool when you have to hobble to grass to wipe your shoes.

It's part of pet responsibility to clean up after them.

In Toronto, it's up to $5,000 depending on the situation.

Really , $500 , that is expensive poop! LOL!! Holy Crap is right! I bet your sidewalks are poop free. I think I would use my hands to pick up the poop if I had no bag! Yes , every thing goes here!

I read that in Boston Ma. blind people do not have to pick up after their seeing eyes dogs. I think that is fair. I think it would awful to have a blind person try to pick dog poop.

I pick up Lil'Bit's poop.. no excuse whether I'm blind or not.

I do my duty as a pet-owner.

That is the law in Boston , if I was blind I would never be able to pick up my dog poop up as he does dump his poop all over the place , it not in one pile it in 3 small piles spread around .
