What is Your Pet Peeve?

When you are with your "friends" and no one tells you that you have a slimy mucus substance hanging out from your right nostril.

When someone with really bad breath talks (or signs) to you close-up. Yuk!

The fact that I just called the doctor after 9:00 AM and it still has the automated response about how the office hours are from 9AM to 5PM.

i hate that. i also get the same thing when the doctor's office closes at 5 pm and it's only 4:45 pm.

i also hate it when i call a number via relay and forget that there was an automated system in the first place.

Yes exactly! They're cutting their phone hours short. <mad> Oh, and their lunch hour turns into a lunch hour-and-a-half.

That must be the worst. Automated systems are already annoying and take forever phone-to-phone. I can't imagine how it is with the relay system.

automated systems take *forever* with relay because it takes that long for the relay operator to type out the entire message. i don't know if i'm wrong about this, but it seems that relay operators don't type as quickly as they used to. i remember when i used relay back in the 90s and a relay operator could type at a moderate pace. now it seems that they type very slowly.

relay operators who type (confirm spelling) and make me wait for another 5 minutes before i'm able to continue my call. <mad>

When strangers tap me on the shoulder or grab me. Not a huge fan of physical contact with people I don't know. <shiver>

pet peeve: icy sidewalks

i almost slipped on the ice twice about an hour ago. <mad>

Eek! <scary> I'm sorry Hear Again. Be careful!

*sigh* that's yet another reason why i want to move to arizona.

my next pet peeve are people who use the term "visually impaired" when talking to cab dispatch after i've told them i'm blind. <mad> what's so hard about using the word "blind?"

i hate that too -- especially for reasons that have already been discussed in another thread.

My pet peeve now is the bone dry weather during the winters causing my skin to form dry spots no matter how much lotion I put on each day! Ugh!!!

I have that same problem! But only with my legs, nowhere else. Makes me REALLY feel the winter, if that makes sense.

When a really large person sits beside me on the train. I don't like being wedged in.

that's what happened to me at Rockefeller Center on New Year Eve. I was in middle of crowd tightly together, hardly moving. That i call - a human traffic jam. I think I felt somebody was touching my ass. :mad2:

:laugh2: The people had to keep their hands warm somehow, Jiro.
