What is a pro-life?

But you would consider it as murder and selfish if the victim of rapist or incest decide for abortion.

Yep, I agree with you there. People should learn to keep their spiritual belief out of the topic. But personal belief that okay to accpet that. :) :cool2:

(In general speak)

Please don't bring some images of fetus/unborn child. My opinion, its kinda of rude to post it with this pciture or video clip. Please don't and thank you.

So, am I forcing women because I don't agree with their opinions?

I simply consider abortion as selfish and killing but I don't feel so comfy to label a woman or girl as murder or selfish person. It's not my place to tell or jugde but am I really forcing them for I am not agreeing with their opinions?

It seems so silly to me.

I'm figure it out. Obama is Anti-Pro Life. He has 2 faced to everyone. I am support Pro Life.

I saw the picture of abortion before at myspace bulletin. It's heartbroken! I'm Anti-Abortion!

If I got raped, I sure wouldn't want to hear anyone's opinion on this or that. I probably would be just in an absulote state of shock that someone actually did something like this to me and I would be frightened. It wouldn't be the time or place for anyone to share their opinions or beliefs. I would just want support and someone just to make me feel safe again.

I am sure many rape victims arent interested in hearing somoene's opinions about abortion and whatnot. I think all they want to is to feel safe again.

Heartily agreed. When she got rape, all I see she really needs a help and support, and ofc, she needs a love. I don't see anything she needs to listen but all about is supportive, cooperative, and kindness that she wants.

I know... I'd seen it. But, please don't mention about pictures or video clip that you saw, otherwise, comments may upset some girls or women because some ADers actually had an abortion before.

I don't really want to ADers feel so upset whenever we said something...

I can understand how it have done for but, please don't bring it up. That's all.

Oh ok. Whatever... I am sorry.

How is it rude? It's related to the topic "Pro-life" and it's a clean video too.

Here's a story.
I don't know who is this member, and her user is LJ, and she regerted her choice. Some members insulted her that she was supposed to not have her personal choice, and then displayed some images of died fetuses right before this user. That was so disrespectful of them for that.

All she did was very upset and hurt because she got an abortion before. A couple of months later, she killed herself because she couldn't go through a such pain.

With that reason... I don't want ADers, who had their abortions, see this images and they will suddenly feel hurt and upset over this some pictures.

I personally don't think it should show either clean or spooky pictures (it's not matter if it is a clean or gore) toward this thread where any ADer can see.

You know what I mean, right?

I know how painful to see those poor unborn children got killed by abortion for nothing. But not with this images. Just don't bring 'em here. I don't meant to be harsh, I only inform you, inculding ADers. That's all.

How is a minor allowed to make medical decisions without parental permission? In your eyes she's a victim/client but in the eyes of her parents, she's their child. Why do the parents lose their parental rights? Unless the parents are the perpetrators of the crime, why are they stripped of their rights?

Because it is a case of rape. Parents are not stripped of their rights, but the rights of confidentiality supercede the parents right to make all medical decisions for their child. They are perfectly aware that their child has been violated, but they are not entitled to priviledged information between patient and physician, just as they are not permitted in the exam room when evidence is collected unless the child requests their presence.

In the case of a rape, we are talking about the administration of the "morning after pill" which prevents implantation of the fertilized ovum, not an invasive medical procedure.

It isn't that I don't trust you; but from your posts it sounds like you really push the "get rid of it" viewpoint. That's all I have to go by.

I push neither viewpoint when I am dealing with a client. I inform of all possible choices, and allow her to decide. In this forum, I can allow some of my personal view to slip in, and it does when I justify the reasons that I support pro-choice. When I am responding as crisis intervention, I am aware that the situation is not the same as discussion on a forum, and do not allow my personal views to color my ability to provide all information regarding all options, nor to provide support for whatever the client chooses. That is a large part of my professional training and education. However, on this board, I am not functioning as a professional.

Exactly. Which is why we are trained specifically to offer information, and then support the client in her choice.

And that is exactly what we provide, irregardless of what choices she makes.

Ok, Mann_K05... I respect your decision because it's your thread.

I've had an abortion before too, with or without pictures it still haunt me, no matter how hard I tried to push it away from me. That's why I'm so against abortion, because I had been forced to have an abortion as late as five months and the abortion staffs dealt with the body like it was rubbish, because my unborn child was in the trash bag, that's why it has made me very angry and my rights were taken away from me.

Was your life or your health at risk. I ask, because elective abortions are illegal after the first trimester, 12 weeks.

No my life and health wasn't at risk, I force to have an abortion by my parents, no it wasn't illegal back then.

No disrespect intended, Cheri, but abortion is legal only since Roe v. Wade, and the law since that time has specifically limited elective abortions to the end of the first trimester.

Columbia Encyclopedia
Roe v. Wade, case decided in 1973 by the U.S. Supreme Court. Along with Doe v. Bolton, this decision legalized abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy. The decision, written by Justice Harry Blackmun and based on the residual right of privacy, struck down dozens of state antiabortion statutes. The decision was based on two cases, that of an unmarried woman from Texas, where abortion was illegal unless the mother's life was at risk, and that of a poor, married mother of three from Georgia, where state law required permission for an abortion from a panel of doctors and hospital officials. While establishing the right to an abortion, this decision gave states the right to intervene in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy to protect the woman and the potential life of the unborn child. Denounced by the National Council of Bishops, the decision gave rise to a vocal antiabortion movement that put pressure on the courts and created an anti-Roe litmus test for the judicial appointments of the Reagan and Bush administrations (1981–93). In a 1989 case, Webster v. Reproductive Health Services, the court, while not striking down Roe, limited its scope, permitting states greater latitude in regulating and restricting abortions. Then in 1992, in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, the court reaffirmed the abortion rights granted in Roe v. Wade, while permitting further restrictions.
