What Induces Fear?

Enough, Jillio. Take it elsewhere, as I suggested TWENTY-FIVE posts ago. This is a thread about fear. Your constant attempts to dominate every thread gets really old. Others have already tried to help out by creating new threads. If you want to ignite controversy among yourself, do it via PM or visitor messages. Please.

Umm...my last post was directly related to a fear...I offered an explanation to a poster that had made a statement about a specific fear. I thought fear was the topic.

Guess I got confused over the 6 pages devoted to medical diagnoses of blindess.

Sorry.

That startles me very easily too. My ex-hubby had to learn to flash the lights in a room before entering it (if I was in the room) because just him coming up to me or touching me scared me out of my own skin.

lol! yeah my dad would do the same thing to me sometimes as to not scare me when he walked in the room. i've been spooked out of my own skin by a mere tap on my shoulder. or turned around to be face to face with someone and screaming, haha.

ill just close my eyes? :hmm:

i read that page. not sure id want to use that with her. the article says it may be possible to cause a neck injury and since she'll try to chase a loud car or truck if one goes by and the leash catches and jerks it might not be safe. shes even pulled me down twice trying to catch a truck when i wasnt expecting it and i weigh 220 so that tells you how hard it jerked. :dizzy:

better than road kill, right? and it doesn't really cause neck injury unless he/she has delicate neck but neck muscle is very very strong.

I think many have a fear of the unknown. Especially when it seems the outcome could be outright dangerous or scary.

I finally killed the spider in my laundry room. I'd been skipping around that thing for 5 days now. I had enough. :)

Yay!!!

A spider crawled on top of me once while I was lying down on my bed, I freaked out and brushed it off. I am not scared of killing spiders, but I COULDN'T find it afterwards. It was late at night and I JUST couldn't sleep there. I went to my roommate's room, and my roommate was sleeping and I said "There is a spider in my room and I can't find it, so Im going to sleep with you. Ill explain more tomorrow good night!"

So yea, there's the fear of the unknown where the damn spider is!

A deep seated fear is that people won't love me if I don't do everything perfectly.

I do not actually fear creepy crawlies. I just don't like surprises. :)

That is why I hate pulling weeds. A lizard or bug jumps out. I freak!

not that I'm scared of them. It is just not knowing where they are or what they are at the time. :giggle:

Absolutely. It overwhelms many people's lives.

It does... I used to be eager to please everyone.

Then I realized I can not please the world.

Now my phrase is.."If Momma not happy no one is" bad joke. I know

but compromise is the best thing to do.

I got out of the "eager to please stage" about 10 years ago.
