Having 4 doesn't harm the environment.
 
I remember that I had lots of donated Teletype Corp. model 28 in basement and garage and i had installed them to deaf customers in the 80's. I was no longer to install them in the early 90's then I m business to selling portable ttys but not much to sell them last few years. See image of TTY 28. Ugly and huge.

Yeah, especially since they were already built before being purchased, any damage would have been done regardless of who wound up having them. It would be even more polluting to simply throw them away.

And yes, try to donate some of them. Old TTY are still useful, not everyone has access to VP. Some people in places are still using the old huge TTYs. They could also be refurbished or recycled to make something else, like braille TTY, or something completely different.

Luckily with computers and different kinds of phones, individual TTYs aren't needed as much anymore, peripheral devices could serve the same purpose when linked to a PC (and then there are VP). I still have my old clunky braille TTY, but a computer could be made to do the same thing, plus other things, if you give it the right software and a braille display of some kind.

Perhaps they are, to the fortunate. Some people have to go 'low tech' for various reasons.

Yes, I installed few Teletype Corp. model 28 with braille unit for blind deaf customers last 30 years ago. It was very expensive price about $5,000. But Lions club or other organization club donated it for customers.

What I would do with your 3 tyys:

Tyy 1. Run it over with my car

Tyy 2. Put a bomb in the tyy and make it expode

Tyy 3. Throw it over a cliff and watch it break in a million pieces

You can ask Lions Club or Charity club to donate it. I was former member of Lions club to donate special tty units and hearing dogs for deaf customers.
 
donate old TTY machines

I have 2 TTY machines I would like to donate, one machine is almost brand new. No deaf people in my area use TTYs anymore, the local deaf center does not want them. The deaf center told me to throw them in the trash. The machines cannot be donated to third world countries as the electronics are not compatable.
I hate to throw them away but there is no place to donate them. They are obsolete.

Donate it to a business that refuses relay calls.:lol: Say, "Here you go! Now you don't need a terp anymore!"

Or, seriously, donate them to the jail or a prison that has deaf inmates. This is the only communication devise they allow due to security.
