I found out that actors that smoke on their shows/movies have to use non nicotine herbal cigarettes. The show Mad Man so many people smoke on that show. Since it is filmed in CA they have to go by CA rules. So no real cigarettes for actors. Some of them say the herbal ones smell quite badly. I found this quite interesting.

I always wondered how actors/actresses got around smoking in their roles if in real life they do not smoke. I knew they 'faked' liquor with stuff like ginger ale & food coloring etc.
 
I learned that my son-in-law's dog has now adjusted to SIL's new robotic leg. It probably was the squeaky noise that it makes--sounds like a squeaky dog toy. :lol:

We got to see SIL and his new leg last night. (His shift work makes it hard for us to get together.) It's very high-tech looking. It has a little green light on the front to show that it's powered on (like a cell phone has) but outside in the dark it looks like a tiny headlight. :lol: He has two batteries so he can wear one and keep the other one charged. It's programmed with a Bluetooth device.

It's heavier than a regular prostheses; more like a real leg. He'll get used to it.

The best part about the leg is that it has a functioning ankle. That is, it not only flexes, it can actually push him forward like a real one.

The worst part about the leg is that it is not the least bit water proof. He can't even get rain drops on it because it will short out. So, he'll still sometimes have to use his old leg or no leg. He's supposed to keep a plastic bag with him at all times in case he gets caught in a rain storm, especially since he wears shorts most of the time.

This is new technology, and there are still bugs (such as the water problem) that need to be worked out.
 
I learned to call your long time friend, check on someone you haven't seen , call a friend, and etc..
I had the scare of my life ! I called my grandma no answer. I stopped by her place , no answer it really got me wondering . To make a long story short , she's fine. She was sleeping due to worries she had about her two sons having the same eye issue. It was quite a morning.

Started taking a new sleep aid for the first time today.... Had a weird dream that I fell in love with a friend of mine.... She is.... really.... really... way... far away... not... anything... of my type... ever.... nothing I'd ever be attracted to... definitely a nightmare... I woke up scared... :laugh2: Bad sleep aid bad! :shock: We're going to hope these dreams stay far far away and aren't a regular occurrence... :shock: :laugh2:

Does she have a good personality? Do you want to be single for a long time?? Maybe this dream is telling you to lower your standards a little bit.

I am single by choice... not because I can't find anybody... :shock: Not to sound conceited... but finding someone is not an issue... at all... unfortunately... I am single because I don't want the burden of balancing ( at the time school ) work, family, friends and whatever else I have going on... I just like having my alone time in my house... I prefer spending my nights alone with a book, online, T.V and cooking for myself, really. :P :D Currently, I have little to no desire to form a relationship. Already been single for three years or so... been going great! :D No drama! :D

P.S.... She has an annoying personality and I can only stand her company for one day a week.... she's nice... but incredibly annoying... She's also incredibly under-educated and doesn't drive, or have a car and lives with her parents... No thanks...

You sure did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My entire community heard that... pretty sure the deaf population heard that scream..... :shock:

Yesterday I learned I have minor scoliosis, I also learned I have flat feet and she said something about my legs or ligaments or something but I didn't understand. It was recommended I start physical therapy and I'm waiting on them to schedule me in, just hoping it does some good as physical pain sucks.
 
I learned that i measured myself... I can't believe how big I am lately. I feel like I am Deaf Jacqueline Laurita in some way.
