I learned that I am worse at my ASL than some of the little kids that were at the Deaf Coffee Chat this evening. But then, they've also been signing since birth. Their mother is deaf, father is hearing, older sister is hearing twin boys, 1 deaf, 1 hearing and baby sister is deaf.
 
Just learned that my niece Laura is getting married on April 21 this year. Whoooo! :dance2: I do wish she is marring someone whose last name I can pronounce though. :P Her finance's last name is Itzkowitz.
 
Just learned that I should read recipes throughly before I cook something. Instruction said for me to cook macaroni before I bake them.. It was not one of my better dishes. :P
 
I learned several new signs, and I learned that my just barely turned 1 year old grandson is now putting his small list of signs together into sentences (eat more please, more that, more please). I think he's almost got Daddy down. His parents have only been teaching him sign for about 1 month. He had trouble with most movements because he had extremely low muscle tone for the first 11 months of his life because of an overlooked genetic mutation. It's now been accurately identified and is being treated. Huge difference.
 
It's really a very serious situation with water shortage. A LOT of people have their heads buried in the sand and are oblivious to this problem.

I am achy and sore. Had to pop the kneecap back into place, but that's normal for me these days.

The new tile will have a cushion type backing that will still make it easy w=to walk on. We went with one that has a bit of texture but is still smooth and also a softer tile.
 
I learned that my brother will become a grandfather in June. After not hearing from this brother for a while, I get a post on my FB status that he & his wife (I thought they split up) are expecting their first grandchild and that their son was the one in charge.
 
I learned that I have lost five pounds over the last three weeks!! Don't ask me how many more I have to go.
 
I learned today not to exit on a road that I was "sure" would be a short-cut to where I wanted to go....winded up in a bad area of town....had to pull over to a seedy-looking small store to ask for directions. Locked my cars doors!....Went inside, told the clerk I was deaf, and did he have some paper & pen?....He acted like I wanted to rob the store or something...then this very young guy walked up with a paper bag that had a beer can in it and started talking and "smiling"....:roll:..

I finally found my way out of there.
