ew. I don't like wet ear. That's what will give me an ear infection. I just take my HA off and let it air dry. problem solved.

if it's swollen and painful next day, I've got an ear drop and pain goes away by next day or so. problem solved.
 
Went out for chinese food. It was way too hot out, though. Back home in a cool house, thank goodness.
 
My doctor told me to take 800 milligrams...I was :shock: but I did it...ahhhh, wonders.

Hang in there. :(

I looooooooooooove Chinese food. I haven't found a decent Chinese (or Thai) restaurant near my home, yet. Plenty of good Mexican places, though.
 
There's a terrific Mongolian place that I just love !! But it's about 20 mins away so I don't go there too often. But it's probably my favorite Asian place of all time.

I was so desperate, I went ahead and did this. I think it must have broken the eardrum as I think a lot more fluid came out of my ear than went in.

Reminds me of when they used to pour hot oil in my infected ears when I was a little kid. It was done to break the eardrum and it does relieve pain. :)
 
Oh well, I use my Q-tip with a little hot water on it. Rub around inside not all the way to the eardrum. It helped me a lot of relief to feel warm inside as a little cozy. It is not FDA's approval. It's your own risk. By the way, antibiotic will damage it, but you are still deaf anyways.

That's true. And even if I misunderstood what you told me to do, it doesn't hurt as much now.

What!! Why you do that? It seems that your ear had so much wax. Just be very careful what you are doing with the Q-tip. Please do not poke on the eardrum.

No I didn't hit the eardrum. I have bad ear canal stenosis and very short eustachian tubes.

Broken eardrums are kind of frequent anyway.

hmm I have a feeling that you didn't break your eardrum because you said you felt better, not in awful pain.

It sounds like you broke a dam (air bubble or something) and that relieved a lot of pressure inside. sometimes fluid gets inside (usually from shower or pool) and never came out until several hours later.

That's great! I know what the pain was. Now you know what to do. Keep it in your note if it comes back without using the antibiotic.

I can't imagine that my ear pain was gone so fast for a short time. What amazing!

I think that you can't quit taking your antibiotic pills because you never know whether the germs come back or not. It's too late now so you just have to finish it all.

Yes, I plan to finish the antibiotics. I know you can get a worse infection than before if you stop.
