Lay on the couch all day and watch the LA Lakers with my mom on tv

I went to church this morning and two of my friends joined me and my DD. It was a simple Mother's Day Brunch with a presentation by three speakers and the pastor. They also drew names for door prizes. I'm so glad my friends came because then I had someone to fellowship with during the meal. If it wasn't for them, my DD and I would have sat by ourselves and been treated like lepers. The fact that my friends showed up made my entire day. :D

went to Vermont to do Tough Mudder race. finished it in 5 hours. my knees, arm, shoulder, and this muscle area where upper thigh and groin meets are all banged up along with hypothermia and half-consciousness. bottom of my feet looks like I barefooted on a field of hard dry grass that cuts you. and then.... had to drive home for 4 hrs...

feels good, man....

Ouch! Glad you enjoyed it; glad I'm too old to do that stuff these days!

Hubby and I drove up to Baltimore to see the Tampa Bay vs. Baltimore game. Unfortunately Baltimore lost, but my real love, the Red Sox, won their game, so all's good in my baseball world.

And speaking of coupons - the only reason we went to this game is that the Orioles run a birthday promotion where you can register to get a free ticket during your birthday month. Both hubby and I have May birthdays, so we got two free tickets, and then we paid $10 each to upgrade to a better section. Still pretty cheap. Beautiful day for a game too, sunny and pleasantly warm, nice breeze. Nice little birthday present for the both of us.

Was this a Marathon?

Was this a Marathon?

no. just a tribute to veterans - Wounded Soldiers Project. and also to brag

They host Tough Mudder (Tough Mudder - Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet) every year at several locations. Vermont is the toughest one cuz it's the coldest one. I had to jump into frigid lake and I had a bad calf spasm. Continued limping all the way till it went away. I also nearly had a cardiac arrest cuz the water was so cold... beyond disbelief... Lifeguard dragged me to safety :dizzy: .... and I did another cold water obstacle again... lifeguard dragged me to safety too...

The not-so-tough version of Tough Mudder is Warrior Dash (Warrior Dash | Home) because it's only 3 miles. Tough Mudder is 10 miles :(

I don't know why I signed up. Only crazy people do that. but then.. my friend didn't want to do it alone and I'm the only friend she knows is crazy enough to do it :dunno:

I honestly do admire you for doing that. That is one rough test to show what you can do.

the prop goes to my friend. She was on my ass like a lyme disease. She has this attitude - "Pain is weakness leaving the body"

She's a marathon runner. and I'm just a bum. hence... our team is called "The Bums"

Whoah, so it's like a triathlon / biathlon of sorts? Instead of running on pavement, your'e running a Xcountry course?

Good lord, I'm surprised people don't die doing this thing. You'll be sicker than a dog in the morning.

hmmm yea you could say that. 10 miles. 28 obstacles. It was held at ski resort mountain. Take a look at this link to see what's there - Mount Snow Course Map 2011 | Tough Mudder

I'm in absolutely no shape for it and I'm amazed that I finished it  The average time for people in shape to complete this course is 2.5 hrs. The record was 1 hr 15 min. I finished in 5 hrs 25 min  I wonder what's the success rate. Last race at Pennsylvania last month was 77% success rate. It was mentally challenging... mud mud mud for 10 miles and I kept on going with stones, debris, mud, etc. inside my shoes. Lot of pain but what helped sometimes was the hypothermia after river crossing, snow crossing, and jumping into frigid lake... numbing my feet :dizzy:

People have been injured from it and had to be taken to hospital - usually broken ankle or arm.

lol I don't get sick from this but I will definitely wake up in world of pain tomorrow

I also just realized my brother also 'liked' this on FB. Damn this thing looks harder than hell but somehow 'fun' in a fucked up kind of way.

Damn, they would likely have to cart me out on a stretcher!

there were many occasion where I wanted to be carted out on a stretcher to a nice warm sponge bath by hot nurses

In your dreams.... ;-)

I've skied Mt. Snow in my long-ago youth. Nice place.

I love doing mud runs. Marine bases host them sometimes.

As for today I spent most of the day in the city just hanging out. I did get a pretty good workout in too. On the way back I am 99% for sure I narrowly escaped being held up at gun point. Not positive but pretty sure.

There was a little scare on the way there to. The lights went out on the train and when I looked up I noticed a guy in sweat pants and a hoodie tampering with the electrical box. I was close to putting a smackdown on him when I noticed his BART ID. The hoodie was a BART hoodie as well.

Note to BART
a) dress your employees a little more professionally
b) work on the train when it is stopped

that is all

I would imagine!!! And I noticed at the very end you got your ass shocked by electrical wires? DAMN. My hat goes off to you. You've got more balls than me and I'm not just talking about the physical ones! :cool2:

fortunately... the battery was dead. OYE OYE OYE! I did brace for it and I was puzzled why it wasn't working. I was hoping to feel what 10,000 volts feels like!

Whoah, what happened?

Whoah, what happened?

I was at the San Bruno BART parking garage (Connected to the San Bruno PD  )

Strange looking dude was walking closely behind me (which I hate) so I stopped. He passed and slow walked, When we got to the elevators he got on one and I decided to take the next one....there are 3. The other 2 never came down. When the original car came down I started to board and the guy was hiding all the way in the front corner....I didn't even see him until I got on...I immediately got back off and took the stairs. On weekends the garage is empty and non reserved spaces on level 3 are the only spaces needed. When I got to level three he was standing at the top of the stairs. His hands never left his jacket pockets the entire time. I just stood there and stared at him. I decided if he flinched I was going "all in" we stared about 10 seconds (seemed like minutes) then he turned and got back on the elevator. May have been nothing....felt like something though.
