What did you do today?

I know that - we get ours locally.

Within 100 mile radius of where you are?

I bet your poultry industry is stronger than ours as yours doesn't waste money as badly.

Our chicken that is raised and slaughtered locally is sent out of state and any chicken we purchase here is shipped in from out of state. A waste of gas/time/money if you ask me.

I have no idea - don't know much about australian chicken factories here...

Today, we ate at Hardee's, went shopping for a bit, met with a speech teacher for one of our kids and picked up kids after school and went to the play ground for a bit and then went home. Kids drew outside on the sidewalk with colored chalks. It's raining out right now. It was fun!

Sarah Palin can write???:P

She can speak too appearently. She's the main speaker at the Women of Joy conference in OKC later this month. I'm not going but my friend is.

So you say I should do it? I know I'll likely have to take an additional biology course with a lab, probably an additional math credit somewhere and probably an internship with a state or federal agency for a semester. I'll look into it and see. I hate to give up my hardwork I've put into English Ed - but with schools consolidating like mad in this state - education may not be a viable option.

I'm just listening to my options and seeing what's out there. The income wouldn't be an issue - I figured up the max salary I could make with USDA using that degree as my promotion point and I would be a GS-12/13 which makes around $75,000/year. This is damn good money for my area by far where the average income is around $30,000.

Beach Girl's post is :thumb:

what you did for English Education major is definitely not wasted... it was an experience & knowledge gained but unfortunately... career-wise? it's a bad job security and a tough one.

there's no point in calculating things like $75,000/year because there's a big question you have to ask to yourself - can you do the job you hate for 25+ years that conflicts with your moral? ethic?

I wouldn't mind AgriScience/Animal Husbandry as long as I'm not the one having to do all of the work for half the pay! But seems like no matter where I go I end up in some part of the poultry industry. I can safely say I have worked all parts of the process from Evisceration to packout and shipping. My theory is if I am going to be stuck in the poultry industry, I might as well be the one doing half the work for twice the pay!

hence... my belief - "Minimum Work, Maximum Pay"

An Austrialian chicken?? do that one do the kangaroo hop or what, JClarke?? hehehe kidding man...

(that was for cheap laffs and if it works, there ya go.. haha...if not, my bad!!)

I am thinking about opening day #2. Giants home opener today. Ticket Office got a little cocky after the WS though. $190 to sit in the bleachers.....through the ticket office???? I feel sorry for kids that love baseball.

That's why I stopped being a Giants fan after they moved from Candlestick. We were diehard fans and would make the trek once or twice a season to that windy hellhole of a stadium, but at least it wasn't a club for the yuppies.

I converted to the A's. Why don't you take a ride across the Bay and get more for your money?

Although, I haven't paid attention to baseball in a couple years, so I don't really know if the A's are any good right now.

A's suck! But I did go to their opening day. I am going to a couple of A's games next weekend as well. They are fun to watch

The Giants have a different price for each game. :dizzy: The same $190 seat today is $21 when the Twins come to town.

Do the A's still do dollar hotdog days? That's when I'd go...

I remember they used to do 2$ beer days too. That was fun.
