What can you teach the deaf?

A deaf person is deaf during all points in communication, and all points outside of communication.

I am with DeafDoc1. Credentials, please?

Except for the internet of course... *wink*

Are you sure your not talking about someone who is mute though?

As for credentials I was born with "good ears", but that's all illrelevant as a deaf person carries just as much knowlege in the hearing subject, oviously.

I'm not a doctor, and do not see anything that requires fixing, I am only inquring into the "hype" aspect if any, of the handicap.

I'm sure this forums aspect lies on the coping side of deafness and a place for deaf people to vent, relax and share experiences with, but when people start asking, what is it like to hear well or, what is it like to be deaf that makes me raise an eyebrow.

Oviously, there is no communication barrier in being deaf because we are communicating right now as we speak.

Shame, H.O.H. catches up to everyone eventually, especially those at risk of old age.

I'm just nursing the subject I guess...

Hey cool for being normal!

If I started a poll for example, and I asked what type of learner you are? Would you be the "Audio" type of learner or "Visual" type of learner?

I was allways the visual type of learner beacause I had to "see it to believe it" type of person.

What's the most interesting thing about being deaf that you found to get by with on a daily basis?

Are you PFH?

I'm more of a visual learner. I find it hard to sit and read instructions without pictures. The other day, I got a board game for me and my son to play together. I had the most difficult time understanding the instruction because I couldn't form a visual picture of how to play. There were no pictures to show me. If there were pictures, I could pick up on how to play just like that without reading a single word. I've done many time (I'm like a guy who don't read the direction)

Most of my thoughts are very visuals. I rarely think in words (even when I'm reading, I'm reading in pictures) unless I'm writing. But sometimes it is hard to take that visual picture and put it in words, Rather I'm speaking or writing. People always told me that they don't know me because I'm very quiet. Even my own cousins and sisters but I don't know what to say to them. I'm always thinking visually and I can't talk to them visually.

now it is doomed, since this thread isn't fun anymore. your too comfortable like you know us.

Nope. I am not talking about someone who is mute. Credentials...you have none.

Uhhh...I'm not deaf.

Is this the incoherence you were talking about in your other thread?

Methinks theExpert is the Troll.:giggle:

If you came to this thread to cause trouble and start calling people names, this surely will not happen.

Please keep your slander to yourselves and stay on topic.

Thanks!
