Thinking about how it is amazingly cold it is here!!! Florida!!! It got down in the twenties last night. Got up this AM and found the bird bath water is FROZEN Solid.. Drove to work looked like winter wonderland. Drove 20 miles to work and there was ice still on the car!!

and to think.. another cold front is coming!!! It will get even colder over the weekend!!!

This is not our usual cold snap!!!

Hoping it will end soon!!!!

I dont blame you. It is hitting us hard too although we get these kinds of temps but the brutal freezing strong winds lasting for over a week is very unusual for us.

Anything that was liquid outside is completely frozen solid.

Those who bought a commodities contract(s) in oranges a while back are going to have a field day! Hope it warms up for you soon.....

Here on the East coast, we are expecting warmer temps tomorrow and Friday but another cold front to come through next week. That's the East coast of Florida. I am farther south than BabyBlue I think. I am 2 hours from Miami. I know that in Indian River County there is already talk of orange groves that have suffered too much damage from the cold.

Thinking about how I hope not to have to pay $85 for a stupid textbook...

I hope not either. I get my books on Monday when I officially start my classes:)

Thinking about the fact that I start my ASL classes on Jan 26th. Price isn't too bad compared to the adult ed classes at the local high schools. The one I am taking is $75 for 8-9 weeks. The schools range from $55 + $25 for materials to $70 + $35 for materials. It is through my local Deaf Service Center.

Farmers are already having a field day! Woke up this AM seen many groves covered in ice to insulate the oranges. The strawberries and blueberries are also threatened by the freezing temps.

Tmw we are expecting the temps to get up to 60s. Then Friday another cold front to blast through along with rain over the weekend.

About the oranges. They can not truly say what the damages are til a few days after the freezes.

It's got to be the cold, but I think I need to go to bed. I seem to be sleeping earlier each day since the cold hit.

Good night KristinaB

I am going to the condo this weekend :dance2: I will be there for a whole week!

having hard time finding the right hotel for the right price.

I hope that freezing drizzle would not be again tomorrow. Hell to scape all icy windows of my vehicle today when leaving from my work.

FRISKY!!!! The shop is not supposed to do any other work besides the damage by the deer without your authorization. If you approved it, it is your problem. You have the rights to deny it. And the insurance is supposed to give you their estimate before you taking to the shop.

Over 80% of shops in the states wants your money.

I have had two of my cars estimated, one by other drivers insurance, paid me by check, I gave it to a good trusted down to earth body shop to do it for me since I have no time. I would do it myself and save me some of the money. 1,281.00 for it. 2nd...95 Astro.. Chevrolet Dealer Collision Center inspected my van and said 8k I said, "F*** that, I can do it for a quarter of that or less" And I left the shop... after all these years, I have got it done for less then 4k. Wife ran it into a street sign on a median at 30 mph.. making a v shape into my van bumper, grille, hood, radiator core support and broke off the side step, did some damage to the slide door. I got all of that fixed temporary until I find all the replacement parts and found all of them for less then 2k and the paint job to finish it off for some more...

If a shop does something without your consent, you have the right to sue if the contract permits you to or convince the manager to drop the costs against you and accept the mistake themselves. If you have approved it, insurance will not cover that which make sense.

For insurance, I prefer the ones who gives you the money so the shop will do the repairs on the amount the check says. They can not go any further or less then they are paid to do. The insurance agent is supposed to check for the damage on your vehicle before you take it to a shop. that is one of two or three options. I rather the one who does that so the shop can not rip anyone off by adding the costs.. YOU are responsible to keep eyes open onto the agent and the people at the shop. I have already chewed on a lot of people about doing something on my friends cars without authorization or saying it is required which is not the truth. They just wants it done their way for the money, so find one that you trust that relies on satisfying you besides taking your money.

Wish I knew that 6 months or so ago.....J/K

 on a friday afternoon - a windown of a work day :/

Update on citrus crop for my area of Florida. The cold did not harm the citrus. Apparently it makes them sweeter and nothing was lost. However, the other crops did not fare well at all. Green beans, and I'm not sure what else.
