Oh my god. I would not be surprised that's what parents are looking forthe kind of CI campers that will never get a taste from ASLers. :smh:

No but seriously, I'd like to give it a try some day, if successful, I can either sell it or keep it, but I find creating things a good and entertaining use of my time, even if I'm not great at creating something like that yet, we'll see after my mechanics training if I'm up to the task.

how's your welding and metal cutting with gas welder skills?? if very good then you're about a quarter of the way there...then you'd need actual draughting skills WITH sound and i me Good understanding of Physics, to draw up dimensions (oh its shared in that site the 'plans' i checked that, hardly anything there.....plates, rods, how thick, what metal high tensile steels? stainless? what gauge need to be used? oh that ride would be harsh , how about adding suspensions, more questions follows...>> how and where what kind?

its do-able but expect to take about 3-4 even 5 years to complete it, and thats just to get to a WORKING, rid able example not including the paintjob...
 
dont get me wrong Saavik, ts a great idea to have a plan, and if you're passionate about it , then do it, it will not be easy, and forgive me if i seem to doubt your metal work building skills, its the actual engineering-physics sides (ride comfort- er safety more like it, to add suspension (hell to make it even street-legal for that matter there might be regulations such wise see??) this is where most hot-rodders lacks, and it tends to explain why they do 'old school' tried and true hot rod styles, such as T bucket, 34 coupes, 47 ford jailbar pickups trucks, 39 plymouth, 32 Roadsters (bit like T-Buckets but bigger and curvier at the tail side, and shorter height of windscreen on a more angle than straigh up down bashing against the wind)...so on, and old muscle cars 50's-60s-70s because the engine bay is already there, and less about or cutting welding and they tend to 'know abut where to do and cut how much and what can find' as hot rod is a known hobby like 'every body in hot rod clubs knows'....this Bat Pod is entirely an ultimate test for like the BEST and most EXPERIENCED Hot Rodder to test their Engineering skills....that's what I'm trying to say.... its not a motorcycle , only thing common is the brakes, levers, throttle and engine, and pegs (pegs is a tricky but fun part but every thing else follows you'd have long pauses after an other...that's all so ultra high motivation is required to push that many pauses into action and pauses will follow EVERYTIME, it's an endurance, big task, you need a PLAN like what goes first , do the 5 items first then have that pause sort out how the next 5 items is gonna be handle, arranged in what order as in assembling, constructing and or where to measure and mark first then back on paper that sort of thing.....hope you read it as a feedback not as a put down im not discouraging you, rather the opposite, just expect this is quite big, it LOOKs small, well a shitty barely ridable version could be done fairly quicky , less than a year for you, but the result would be embarrassinly disspointed,...thats my point. im not speaking from experience, nope i have zero, well no i welded for 2 years...loved it, but im a slow welder but do better job than most but in the end i wasn employeable cuz im too slow and unproductive oh well....stuff it.....i moved on....that was my youth when i was stoned every day....(probably why lol)......
so yeah, also i used to read LOTS of motocross magazines (that was years before internet) and loved that, also road bike magazine VT250s VF500s vfr750s, VMax, GSXR750s , 1100s RG500s, RZ500 RD250/350s, english mags and american mags and their specials on readers posts in their DIY suspensions, expansions chambers, exchanging best forks from a shitty bike to a best bike that lacked a good fork, that sort of thing aluminum billet as casting and machining, i was fascinated with these things and learnt alot but never did it....
thats why Im writing as 'feedback' to you...i have an 'armchair experience' LOL....but yeah , Love the idea of a BAT POD, bloody what fun to do
Go for it, but expect it won't be easy and it WON'T be FUN in er..most times or some of the times....that you need to be aware of...because of the enigneering side of (ie the BLUEPRINT < google that and google it 100x, theres lots different meanings of actual Blueprint, it isnt just draughting dimension on a blue paper) blueprinted engines is when all pistions are taken out, sanded down to match all the wieghts of every other pistions so there are perfect to a thousandth of the wieght..yes that close , including the conrods, and cranks's jounrals and pins. fly wheel opitimised..etc etc etc, but the simplest blueprints of engine in 'blueprinted engines' are when pistons, conrods, valves, and sanded, grinded, polished to match all so the engine spins real nice - reaching its perfect balance and proper longtivity and performance , that descern a good motor to a shitty motor much the same way as some 'same cars' sold eg a 2011 Toyota 86GT is going to have a rocket or a slug (in later in its engine life , as owners (in say a 86GT car club compares their cars with other members) will notice all the 'stock' unmodified ones are varied as slugs. OK and rocket because how these parts inside the engine was 'matched' by flukes and mistmatched (even slightly) will make it seem less grunty than others....thats because it wasnt blueprinted, it was mass produced all made in a hurry....

um..id better stop typing this is going to go on forever....
im onyl trying to point out a few things to ponder on and yes great project, but expect it will be boring and slow at many nights on the project, this don't let to bog you down, its a test like you see to test your mechanics skills, indeed! also the patience!!.... and perseverance!!...

All I can do is give it a try when I have the funds to take on such a task, but even if it turns out to be a flop, maybe something else, something new and unique will come out of it, if not, I'd have gained a bit more knowledge and experience.

Still on the eating like a bird kick... :doh: The last thing I remember eating a decent amount of is with my parents when we met up with their friends at cracker barrel on Sunday. They're those "Oh come on, eat it EAT IT" kind of people. I forced myself to eat an actual meal... and then threw it up... for hours... :squint: I haven't eaten since... Now, I'm slightly hungry and I don't want to push myself to the getting sick for days phase again... Though, that food was delicious while I could enjoy it... :squint: I think tacos would definitely make me sick... I think I might stick to something light... probably like a tiny one egg omelette.... with spinach! :D

thinking that i asked my sis who is a huge fashion with clothes, shoes, purses etc. I asked her for few opinions like she said, " beige for handbag". I saw beige that i like but saw light grey that i like more then got a light grey satchel instead. :ugh3:
 
I'm just thinking about how second puberty is strange, I mean really strange. Can't wait for the end result, but holy crap, it's weird seeing development start to inch closer to 50/50. It's hard to explain, but I'm happy with how it's slowly turning out, but man, the estrogen does some crazy stuff to your head, like making me cry when Bruce Wayne's father was shot in the beginning of Batman Begins.
 
And now you know it really isn't an excuse when women say PMS is making them moody. :D
 
Now that I'm back to a phone that has physical keyboard, count on me posting a lot more. I don't know if that is good news or bad news.
