What are you thinking about Part VII

I am thinking that job hunting is torture!

You are working almost like a full time job and spending money to go to places and printing resumes and etc.

Worse part is no money coming in and knowing you got bills to pay!!!!!

I hope you find something soon.

You are attacking it correctly by treating the search like a full-time job.

Do you also have your e-resume out there?

I'm all out of the house. Now to start unpacking boxes in the apartment...and get ready for my train trip next week. I'm blessed to have a daughter who took care of getting a storage unit and a truck to move the last stuff out today.

So tell us about your new apt. Does it have a pool, gym or anything? What kind of view do you have? Take some pics!

No, never had much luck on those types of websites.. Mostly using Craigslist and Temp agency.

I did get a call back so gotta call them at 11. I think that one has a good chance so we'll see how it goes.

In a span of 20 years since the murder and 'trial of the century' here's how he look then and now:

He's up for another parole hearing in 2017....He got 33 years for kidnapping and burgulary .....and the 33.6 million he was supposed to pay the Goldman's? Seems they have not received 1 penny of it...All the evidence shown last night...wow!...

Good Luck!

Interestingly I've had good luck with at least monster- I've gotten some of my jobs through recruiters finding my resume on monster.com. Have gotten emails through Dice and CareerBuilder (though the latter has really gone downhill in the 10 years I've been a member there).

Am working with another consulting company right now (can share with you if you'd like) who works with disabled workers for both private and public sector jobs. We'll see how it goes...

Please PM me with consulting company information if they can help in Texas.

Thanks.

Update after phone call:

Asked me to fill out all the W-2 and I-9 and gonna set me up with local place next week. I think next week is gonna be good week for me but we'll see how it goes.
I've learned not to count on things till it's actually in hand.

How well I know what you mean. I'm hoping they extend my current contract in November so I don't have to go through it again. After my vacation next week I plan to update my resume and start passively looking for my next job in case my contract is not extended.

I am annoyed because 7 dryers in my apartment complex does not work. Waste of $3.00. I have to go far to laundromat to dry my clothes after I watch America's Next Top Model.

That is annoying, for sure.

It's a small complex. There is/was a pool (not sure if it is still functional).
I have a w/d and a shower stall in my unit, which were two things I was hoping to have. Don't know if I'll get around to posting pics, though.

You are lucky to have washing machine and dryer!

I think more places are putting them either when newly built or when remodeled. 8 years ago we lived in an apartment complex where they were slowly adding small stacked W/D's to the linen closet and we were lucky to get one of those. It was on the top of my list (after costs) when I was looking for a place. And this place has a full size W/D.

The one problem with the W/D here is that the laundry closet is in the wall that I would have used for my china cabinet. Then I was going to put it on the opposite wall (the cabinet would have stuck out though because that wall is the entry closet), but that wall has the electric box. So, I decided to put it on the side wall. Well, when the movers brought it in we realized that the ceiling fan in the dining area was in the way. So the china cabinet is now on the wall by the front door in the living room.

Same here, when I was moving I had to refigure some furniture because what I had in my head didn't work. I hope you are happy with how all your furniture ended up.

Good luck! I agree that it is torture. I have been applying for years because I want to get out of the teaching field but no luck.

What about a portable set? Will your rules allow that? I used that combination in at least 2 places. The washer connected to the kitchen sink like a portable dishwasher would. The dryer ran on regular house current and didn't need to be vented. But rather than sweep up lint I had the guys (I was bookkeeper for a construction company) cut a scrap piece of paneling the same width as one of the windows with a hole in it for the vent kit i bought and I blew it out the window. I later had the washer install like a full size one would be after I bought a house.

When I bought this house I was also clearing out the one I had just inherited from my mother. There was a Hoosier Cabinet that the movers said "that goes under there?". I told them yes I measured. It turned out it did fit with about an inch to spare. What they did come up with was where to put a small chest that had started life as a washstand. I knew I wanted it in a certain bedroom but had not decided where in the room.

I am seeing a lot more apartments offering W/D; most only have hookups so you have to provide your own. Of the 6 apartments I've lived in (not counting PA as that was a house) 4 of the 6 had washer/dryers in the unit with one set being a "stacked" combo (it was a mismatched set to say the least- washer with top load and dryer installed above that- you couldn't even open the lid all the way) and 2 with W/D connections- I had to buy a set for 1, then re used for my last place (since sold to a pair of military guys).

That item is definitely on my list... right after 1st floor unit now lol.

Can't you call someone to get your money back, this happen to me at my condo and I got my money back . Someone put a Canadian quarter in the washer and when I used the machine next I lost my money . I got my money back a couple of times . I would be bugged too if that many dryers were broken at once.
