What are you thinking about Part VII

I know an acquaintance who didn't care about overdrafts and still withdrew money, and now that person owes the bank more than $7,000 in overdraft fees.

I don't think so. They will lock an account way before it his the $7000 mark ... my ex got her account $300 something in the hole and tried to withdraw more and they froze it till she paid it ... and did something where she couldn't open another account at any other bank locally too.

What a stupid stupid bank to let them keep withdrawing money... What bank allows you to keep withdrawing money when you overdraft?! Seriously, I've never heard of a bank that will just keep letting you withdraw once in the negative....

MB Financial. That's the name of the bank.

You may be right. I had my doubts when my friend told me about the $7K owed, but it was verified.

Didn't realize this was settled when I commented. Sorry for this and please ignore.

What is it like having a new guy? See, a woman may have had a guy who knew his way around cats. She then gets a new boyfriend. That boyfriend needs protection in case he gets bitten by cats. How does women adjust to that?

Condom does not always protect against STD.

Well, we found out the balconies in all of our condos are bad. My neighbor fell through hers breaking both her legs so the HOA sent in construction to rebuild all of our balconies and inspect all of our condos. They found bad wood in my kitchen, downstairs half bath and master bedroom. Both balconies in my condo have to be rebuilt and the rebuild will take 6 months. Talk about terrible. Construction is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, which SUCKS! No parking in my garage or driveway and scaffolding everywhere! My condo was built 3 years ago and looks condemned... 4000 sq feet and I'm down to around 2000 sq feet with all these temporary walls. All the windows have to be replace and all this other crap, it looks terrible! Dust everywhere! So much noise! half of my kitchen, ( my island, cabinets are missing ) half my living room, half my dining room and half of my master bedroom are gone with these temporary white plastic walls up... stupid loud construction noise and workers.... since I own it, we'll see what will be done if anything through the good ol' HoA... that's what I'm thinking about! My house is so messy and gross looking!!! :pissed:
Oh, my, that's awful! Of course, I'm glad that they're fixing your place before you got hurt. Still, construction mess is terrible to live thru. I've done it on a much smaller scale and it was bad enough. I can't imagine living thru such an extensive mess for six months. :(

Make sure they include professional cleaning services (at their expense) after all the work is done. You'll need every item, and every square inch (vertical and horizontal), every drawer interior completely wiped down. That construction dust is very fine, and taping up sheets of plastic isn't good enough. Also, they should pay for professional steam cleaning (hot water extraction) of all your upholstered furniture, rugs, and carpeting.

I'm surprised that a poor construction job like that initially passed the building inspection. Something hinky going on there. :hmm: You might want to talk with your association or a lawyer about a class action. Keep everything they do or say documented.

Might be a good time to take a trip. :)

Turns out that the front wheel bearings is broken, the mechanic said I am very lucky that the wheel didn't fall off and get into accident. I was not far from entering hwy going home when that happened. The wheel was wobbly from the broken bearing. I made a good call to request a flat bed tow truck to drop off at the shop to be safe than sorry.

Indeed no fun!
Wow, it's a good thing you pulled off the road when you did. Close call.

Why do they do that? They should know better. I can never have $2,000 in my bank account for any reason, unless I had a decent paying job, then yeah, I could.
They weren't picking on you personally. It's a standard promotion--advertising.

You need to sit face-to-face with a bank manager and explain your situation, needs, and expectations for an account. They can set up something that fits you. If Chase can't, then you move on to another one that can.

Have you discussed this with your Thresholds rep? They might already have a program set up with a bank or credit union that is suited to your needs.

Even if I could, the whole thing would be moot, because the Social Security Administration has ordered them to make all member checks electronic deposits, therefore, they're responsible for their own money, some with staff assistance, but I don't need staff assistance, because I pay all my bills in a responsible manner, and I've never been late-- ever.

I paid off by paying back $$$ that i borrowed $$ from my retirement plan for 10 years. YAY.

OoooKkkkk . . . So you already have a bank account. In that case, why do you need to "save" cash in your wallet? Either don't withdraw so much cash each month, or put the excess cash back into your bank account.

Problem solved.

Not that simple. Each month, I pay over $550 in bills, leaving very little for myself, and what little I do get I have to use it wisely.

Mark you can ask social security to direct deposit the checks into your Chase account.

Yeah..... I knew about the law, and I've had direct deposit for more than 36 months now, and I just passed 40 months, so I've had it for a while.

Of course it's simple.

Instead of stuffing leftover cash into the back of your wallet you deposit it back into your bank account.

In case you forgot, you told us that you plan to stash your extra cash into a section of your wallet so that you wouldn't spend it. We're trying to explain to you that isn't a safe way to save money. You can keep a few extra dollars that way for quick emergencies but if you have more money left at the end of the month, put it back into the bank for safekeeping. Or, don't take out as much the following month.

That's not complicated at all.

I am thinking about my future SmartVP from Purple. Hopefully it can get installed soon. :D Either this week or next week, or in 2 weeks.

I'm sorry I wouldn't understand everyone on VP. My Sorenson VP 200 would freeze every time I use it. Time for a new VP for me.
