Wondering if I am being too nice????

Nah, he could use it. It's very admirable, he's just......hmmm I'm going to keep my mouth shut :)

*head held high and brushes shoulders from dust* Popular or not, I'm still glad to be here. I wouldn't change it for anything, because I like being here, and learning new stuff almost everyday. There's never a dull moment around here, but when there's stuff going on that I have no business getting into, I steer well clear of that, cause I full well know what's gonna happen if I jump in. I am content being happy, and focusing on the good stuff, and not letting the negative stuff bother me. I am proud of who I am, and no one can change that-- period. I am who I am. Simple as that. There will be no head hanging from me. I have too much to live for these days.

let's calculate my popularity score: 392 likes received / 957 posts = .41

this only means one thing:

They%2Blove%2Bme!%2Bthey%2Breally%2Blove%2Bme!.gif

Mine is worse - 3!!!

Popular? I don't know who told you that or exactly what they meant, but I'm going to take a numerical approach. Popularity generally means that people like you, and on a message board like this one, that pretty much equates to liking your posts. Using the forum's "like" feature as a way of estimating, I would try to determine the probability of people liking something you post, and see how your numbers compare with those of other members.

To estimate the probability that someone will like one of your posts, I divide the number of likes you've been given (as of this writing) by your total number of posts. That gives us 200/3761 = .05.

To compare your score with other members, I used the "what are you thinking about" thread, because it has so many posts. I picked people who had a total number of posts that had the same number of digits as you (I didn't want to pitch you against AD veterans with tens of thousands of posts, and at the same time didn't think it would be useful to compare you to people who've only recently introduced themselves.)

So I chose three people for a loose estimate, working backwards from the last page of the thread and picking people with total posts in 4 digits. I found Angel1989, caz, and femme Fatale. Their scores averaged out to .21, which is slightly more than 4 times greater than your score of .05.

To get a more accurate description, we should calculate popularity scores for many more people, but this loose calculation suggests that the average alldeaf member (with a total post tally roughly like yours) is at least 4 times more popular than you are.

I enjoy this... a lot. :D :laugh2:

We love Jess!!! <3  We can't help she's so popular. :D

Wondering where my Dad is, and hoping he's safe. Bad time for truckers to be heading down South. I just hope his semi doesn't jackknife, cause he was in a bad accident in Iowa a few years back-- destroyed his old semi completely.

I just ate a whole box of chocolate covered raisins... thanks to "that time".... I justified it to myself because raisins are healthy for you.... :ugh:

I've been hearing I'm really popular. I :dunno: why that is, but I was that way in school, too. I don't know why I'm so popular, when some members say I annoy them with my posts. Ah, well. I suppose I'll have to get used to being popular around here, and not LET IT INFLATE MY EGO. Just keep mellow, and I'll be all right. Sometimes I wonder what it would've been like if I hadn't found this site that morning on Nov. 21st. It's been nearly 3 months, and my popularity seems to be going up, and I have no idea why. Oh well.

Mark! This sounds little bit egocentric. That's why people made comments about you being popular. You should just say Thank you next time when someone compliments you.

The roads are clear and hardly any cars at all. Wish they'd tell people there was a snow storm coming more often!

*shrugs shoulders* Didn't know what to say. Kinda embarrassing, really.

OUCH Think I broke two toes last night. Jammed them really bad in the dark. They have been throbbing all night. Can't even put the blanket over them. I don't think there is anything I can do about it since it's the two small toes.

Funny because I was joking I was going to kick my tv last night when cable died. Karma!!!

That hurts!...the throbbing never stops...never happened to me before, but I've busted my big toe nails several times by dropping things on them....lost the nail....could not sleep...put my foot into a big pot of warm water...seemed to help a little....If you've ever heard someone cussing like a sailor..(and I'm sure you have)....:giggle:

Speaking of busting things, I busted my ribs and sliced and diced my hand riding my bicycle on ice a few years back prior to Christmas. I was dumb enough to do that, and it left a pretty decent sized scar on my right hand, no longer visible today, but I'll never do that again. slicing my hand on razor sharp ice? Nope, not doing that again. The cut was pretty deep, too.

Mark that sounds...ouch and nore ouch!!!

Yup. Odd thing is, I didn't know my ribs were injured until I went to bed, and the pain? Nothing I've never felt. They still hurt to this day, and I suspect they never fully healed. The way they got hurt was not pretty. My hand, however, is doing better.
