I have two options...

Have my ex help me move back...

Or do it alone.

My dad is going with the ex one. He doesn't want me to drive alone. PLUS my ex is offering to help with my expenses...

I'd say no.

But then again, it's too dangerous to drive alone and I don't have anyone else to help me.

Should I just drive all 3,500 miles by myself? And my driver license expires next Thursday on my Birthday... I already renewed it, but the new license is in California.

That would depend on driving experience and all that shit. It is generally more dangerous to drive than flying, anything can happen on the way. I drove 2,400 miles alone from Washington state to California then to Iowa in 2010.

California License OK

Lanapoo, if you have a valid drivers license you can drive through any state with it. We drove to NY with a California license. It doesnt matter. As long as its valid.

no. the point is - you can get in expensive trouble for driving with expired license unless a cop is understanding and forgiving but I wouldn't bet on it.

curious - what is your estimated cost for this whole trip?

I belived when she said she renewed her license it was for the state of California.
Thought she was saying her NY License expires next week. As long as she has papper work that shows it was renewed she is legal to drive. If she got pulled over and they run her license through there computer it will show as valid

it doesn't matter. you need to have proper documentations with you at ALL time whenever you're driving. computer or not - you'll never know because some cops are just dick like that.

states do not always share DMV records with each other except outstanding warrants.

I did ~2800 on my own just a few months ago. Not exactly hard, but it wasn't winter season and secondly wasn't a Uhaul.
RE: the driver's license issue - print out your renewal papers or confirmation papers? That's the best bet you have right now other than waiting for it to come (and finding a place to stay, and having a mailing address). You don't have any other choice than to wait if so.

It's all going to depend if you get pulled over, which we all hope you don't.
