I'll wait for the doctor to diagnose. Why do you feel so compelled to prove me wrong? Does it somehow make you feel better? This is a support group after all. We all have different situations in our life. Please, give me a break!!!!

Didn't I just explain above I don't like you because you called me names?

In a person completely deaf, auditory hallucinations could have no external influence. Correct?

Only from inside.

Botti - in my case, the sound I "hear" come from insude, but for some reason, seeing something external will jog the memory of the sound and I "hear" it.

My family doesn't understand that so let me put it this way, Outside my window, I see an airplane coming in for the landing. Now, I can no longer in actuality hear the airplane, but my memory will pull up the sound and I will "hear" the airplane. So I guess that could be considered and external influence for an auditory hallucination. Or, am I totally not understanding at all?

No, I think that is a good explanation. Because I was born this way, I don't do that.

Tinnitus is just tinnitus to me.

I get this too so it always comes as a surprise when the voices that I hear with CI doesn't match the one I hear in my head.

Right - people at my Deaf club have explained that it's something that mainly those who had some hearing and then lose it all will experience.

Noise

That's exactly right. But, at times the sounds that you "see" don't compare to the loud brutal noise you hear!!! Like when at a restaurant I know it's loud so I tend to speak louder even though I can't hear a thing. It's confusing and really scarey at times. I feel like my heads going to blow up. Thank you so much for your description. I hope others can understand now.

I get that too and I was born profoundly deaf. The mind is a strange thing.

Not know what veddy mean, but this IS interesting, and true!!!

My daughter just texted me. She found out who that new person is. It is a new girlfriend with 4 kids and they are living with them now. I feel faint right now.

Genes... The whole X/Y chromosomes thing and passing on dominant/recessive genes. Discussing it with a very good friend. I miss my Biotechnology major. Should have stuck with it.

In my experience anyone learning a second language is thrilled to find someone else who speaks that language, especially when that language is not commonly found (unlike spanish in the states or french in Canada) :)

I think it sucks that I can't go to Deaf Coffee! Not enough money and I haven't visit there for so long...

:( :( :(

I'm thinking about the saying "God never gives you more than you can handle". Well I can't handle "it" anylonger. Thanks to the nice people I met. You are treasured!!!!!
