Thinking about my mom coming to visit. I hope she navigates the Portland area freeways OK.
 
Thinking my daughter may have viral menigitis. Took her to the medical aid unit this morning and was told to just watch for worsening symptoms...and if she has them take her to ER. She's actually getting better now. She had the fever and neck pain for two days and woke up this morning with a fever. Though it's probably viral, the doctor gave her a prescript for anitbiotics....just to be on the safe side. No wonder people become immune to the effects of anitbiotics.
 
I am sorry, bluelove. Hope shes feeling better today. that is scary! keep us posted to see she s getting better by tonight and tomorrow.
 
wondering if my week can get any worse... and how much my speeding ticket is going to be...
 
thinking some of you need to learn how to be a good sleeper. git rid of stress and worrisome. take naps helps to sleep better at bed time.

Get rid of stress and worriesome by taking a nap isnt that simple. :aw:
 
How frustrated I am in getting to plan my birthday. For some reason my family isn't inclined to meet me at a restaurant of my choice for my birthday, even after I said I'd foot the bill for it all. We're trying to plan a small party of about 15 of us and I'm getting flak over it, all because my mom chose not to do anything for her birthday except pizza (totally fine by me!) so it became, from my sister, "why do something special for yours??" .... argh !

I hope your daughter is ok and no meningitis. I know that is very scary.

Thinking I just don't know anymore. Is it really worth it. I just give up.

Is there an epidemic going on? I am seeing so much of this, "It is about me" attitude on this forum, but it only seems to be coming from a select few. I am beginning to see a correlation between hearing status and narcissistic behavior.:giggle:

Chances are much better that it is viral and not bacterial. When they get the confirmation, you can stop the antibiotics if it is viral.

I agree. They prescribe antibiotics, "just in case" way too often.

Hope that she has a speedy recovery. Sick kids are no fun for kid or mom.
 
I am WAY more deaf than you. Not bragging, not complaining, just a statement of fact.

I know. I think I got it worked out, but I think I have an upset sister. Oh well. It's MY birthday. I don't think I'm asking so much in having us meet at a restaurant instead of my house, especially when I'm paying for it.

I was thinking about being a police officer currently while stationed in Germany. Though I may be a Texan in the United States, I had daydreams of me being one, driving a police vehicle. I consistently talked on the radio while chasing down some unknown suspect. Out on the streets, I wore the usual Polizei uniform: white cap, tan shirt and pants, green velcro jacket with yellow words POLIZEI on them, and a partner who knew I was deaf but appreciated me being in the line of work. I also was speaking German at the time, which indicates I learned to read, write, speak German fluently without many mistakes.

I also thought about being a Porsche racecar driver mastering the Porsche 911 GT3 on the Grüne Hölle. I was going for the Gold Cup and raced against very competitive drivers. I also was deaf at the time but managed to represent Germany in the Gold Cup since I decided to opt out of representing the USA. I would only represent the USA for the nice people out there, not for the mean people who could be so heartless, put people like me down, and declare us rubbish for every job we take.

If Germany does accept me as one of their own treating me nicely, gave me a great job, great pay and compensation, overall respect and understanding, that would be a perfect reason for why I would represent Germany in the Gold Cup and being a police officer.
