Wear a tank top...and I promise you it will be 50 degrees. ;)

Murphy's Law.

Drinks LOTS of water! Good luck!
I'm not a big water drinker, but I do get water from the water fountains backstage.

Ooh...don't wish show people good luck...say "break a leg". "Good luck" is supposedly bad luck, at least for the cast/chorus. I'll take your "good luck" for keeping cool/hydrated, not for the show.

Since I have registered for two classes in the fall this morning, I have been thinking about how to pay for them.

Since I have registered for two classes in the fall this morning, I have been thinking about how to pay for them.

That's why I have given up taking any kind of classes. I can't afford them, and I can't seem to find any way to get any help. Was told in a few places that I was "too old for the classes I wanted to take". Since when am I too old to take an ASL class? I will be 48 tomorrow.

:jaw:

They forgot to tell that to our senior citizen law student. You're never too old. :cool2:

Now, go back and tell them that you belong in that class!

nah not too old for taking an asl class! it seems to me that you DO enjoy learning ASL then go for it. It will keep you busy and maybe it helps your mind off what is going on at home. you know?

it is never too late to learn ASL. its fun to meet others in the class. IMO

I've said it a million times, but I'm really close to getting burned out as a teacher. The fire of passion is still there, but it's diminishing. I need a new career...something that will pay good for me to support my family and still have money left over to play with. I feel guilty for feeling this way when I know there are thousands of families who are looking for jobs in this sh*tty economy.

don't feel guilty. When you leave for a new career, you're giving your old job to somebody else :)

Would love to, but still have no way to pay for it.

I have been saving up for school. I have been weighing my options (ie: breaking my CD, asking my parents for a loan etc.) I am sorry if my post was unclear but my mom is having an operation tomorrow.

that's similar to Academic Adviser. That's what my friend is working on. She will be flying to Boston in.... 2 hours to attend Northeastern University's grad program. She will also start her job there as Assistant Administrator for NEU's Deaf Program

Kristina, you can graduate from the Sallylou School of ASL and Cosmotology. Don't forget your hair implements.

After graduating from college, I did apply for a position as an Academic Advisor for the Students with Special Needs for Montgomery County Community College but they denied my application since I didnt have 5 years of teaching experience at the time. Now, I have 9 years under my belt so I am thinking about something like that. Meanwhile, my program got a new principal who is deaf so I want to see how the school year goes...if things change for the better or not.
