Actually I almost lost my left hand. I been using chainsaw for many years (related to my woodworking projects). I was up on the tree and tried to cut one of the large limb, and once it cut, the limb broke loose and the tree shook violently side by side. I swing my arm under where the blade are to grab the trunk of the tree to control my balance, I wasn't thinking at all about how the blade still moving and that is where the blade hit my arm.
You may see the pix below where you see two light colored slice and require stitches.

I will show that to him! His grandfather was a farmer who managed to cut his throat while cutting back trees with a small chainsaw. He was in his late 80's at the time and actually survived and lived to 96.

I don't recommend it. Even the doctor thought it was a miracle. That grandfather was stone deaf, there were no pagers, in the country.

He ran for the house holding his throat and my husband;s grandmother drove to town to get him sewed up. I think it was only about a mile to town so he was incredibly lucky.
