Now I'm curious about how these hearing people feel about their experiences with the Deaf. What annoy you, as a hearing person, about the Deaf?

This may help me to know what to talk about in my future ASL class, so that way they'll know what to expect. I don't want to scare these students about the Deaf. I appreciate your feedback, (if there are any out there).

Hmm.. do you mean that YOU don't sign like crazy, and don't scream too much while sign as a deaf person or as a hearing person? Clarify your message, please. I don't understand what you are saying.

I'm NOT hearing.. but i know that these
hearing people HATE it when a deaf person
like me asking them "What's up ?", "What's going on ?",
"What were you all talking about?"....

Wonder if any hearing people agree with me about this ???

ChelEler, good question... i'm waiting to hear
any response from hearing people about this........

Good point.

What about this one - deaf person acting like ignoring the hearing person who's trying to talk to this deaf person? Does that annoy you?

And this one - when you're on a telephone, does it bother you when a deaf person, who is in the same room as you are but not see you, calls your name and not knowing that you're on the phone?

hey, chel your good question above me disappeared ..
what happened ?

As a hearing person, never thought about something I "hate" from deaf peeps. Guess I dont have any issues at all, with non-hearing.

Interesting.

No feeling conflicts? No awkward feeling? Any unusual situation from the Deaf that you didn't realize about?

My ex hated it when I misunderstood him all the time. He always made facial expressions that did not show what he was really thinking, and I kept on asking him "Are you okay?" which got on his nerve eventually and he shouted "Jesus Christ!" at me one night. LOL

Dang! Impatient and unable to understand in the relationship won't work out! Glad you're not with him.

I'm not annoyed like I use to, but as I said in a previous post, LATE LATE LATE LATE to get ready and leave the house to go to places like Six Flags and stuff. I don't mind leaving places late to socialize unless we have a schedule, like getting someone to a bus or train or plane. I solved the leaving late part. I figure what time I wanna leave, and tell them an earlier time. :naughty:

Oh boy, you want these Deaf friends of yours to miss you in an activity, eh? :P

  That is SOOO true. I don't mind it now as much, except when we have a schedule to make. I love socializing now, since my signing is getting better....and it will only get better with socializing and taking classes when I can.

Does it bother you when a Deaf watches your lips/mouth instead of looking at your eyes when you talk to this person?

:laugh2: I never thought of looking at a guy's crotch for communication. Unless he was too happy to see me!
