What annoy YOU, as a hearing person, about the Deaf?

:laugh2: @ prostock19

Anyway, I noticed that hearies also get annoyed when I am signing with my friends and they stare at us, I stare back at them and saw "Enjoying the show?" A few ppl got very mad at me and had a bad attitude, but I told them "Then don't eavesdrop into our conversation, ya know its very rude." They were like "Whatever."

LOL

It downright irritates me when some hearing folks STARE.. like they were raised with wolves! no offense wolfboy. why cant they just have the guts to come up to me and say hi?? I would love that. ;)

Aren't we off topic. What annoys you AS A HEARING PERSON, about the Deaf??

LOL..Simple mistake Liza. I know there is a post about what Deaf hate about hearing. I think I posted what I hate about hearing people, too. LMAO.

thats it matty.. i must stop drinking irish cream and kahlua when i go to AD :D I really thought this was abt deaf... dang! LOL i am wearing glasses now :P

its great that this thread is in existence.. i would like to read more on this...

What bothers me sometimes is when SOME deaf people lump all hearing people together. What I mean is when some of you post your complaints about hearing people you think that all hearing people think and act the same way.

Go back and read the topic where members were complaining about things that hearing people do. Very few of you took the time in your post to say that not all hearing people are like this.

It comes off sounding very negative. When I see this I always post "shoot all hearing people" This usually gets a laugh but the real reason I do it is for people to realize that all hearing people are the same. We don't all do the things that some of you post about.

I know most deaf people don't like being stereotyped so I think some of you should think about this while your posting your comments about Hearing people

bbnt, generalism sucks i agree... :D
double standards... yeah... i jibe with that...

i think you're a great person, and maintain a good sense of humor about things like these.

This does bother me a lil, but I understand more what Deaf people go though. I have been friends and hung out with deaf for over 3 years, and seen the BS that SOME hearing people give Deaf people. I can see, when it happens on almost a daily basis, you tend to generalize like that. I do the same. I keep saying at work "college students". I know, the majority of college students are fine. I mostly see the troublemakers here at work.

I know there are a lot of ignorant hearing people out there. My daughter is 12 so I have been asked many stupid questions. In my opinion the worst are the audiologists. Many of them have never met a deaf person outside their work but many of them consider themselves experts on deaf people and deafness in general.

3 or 4 times in a meeting or one on one I have told these expert wannabe's that they don't know what they're talking about and they should stop dispensing information as factual when they have no real knowledge on the subject.

Thanks for your praise on this thread being exist. :D

I thought it would be helpful for any Deaf to improve themselves among hearings as well as hearings with Deaf. :thumb:

Dear bbnt:

I hate to say this but I don't quite follow what you're trying to say in this thread. :( First of all, I know that all hearing people are not[/i] the same. It's the same with Deaf. We aren't the same to each other. I know that.

Do you care to explain what you mean in your first post in this thread, please? I will appreciate that. :)

Sincerely yours,

Most times when I see "hearing bashing" the sentence starts out " I hate it when hearing people" or "I hate it when hearies".

what do you think a hearing person thinks when they see that???

If I started out a sentence like "I hate it when deaf people" or "I hate it when deafies" ..... What would you think??

If a person is a jerk it's not because they're hearing or deaf and it's not because the color of their skin is black or white. If a person is a jerk it's because they're a jerk

I am not responsible for what another hearing person say's or does but when I see things like " I hate it when hearing people" or "I hate it when hearies". It sounds to me like the person saying this think all hearing people are the same.

Ah, I understand where you stand in now. I apologize for making you feel that way. Does my thread topic say the same thing? I'm curious. I don't mean to offend anyone... I just thought that it would help me to understand the hearings better as they understand the deafies better too. Do I make sense here? :|

It don't offend me. I may dislike individual deaf people, but I will never dislike you or anyone for a thread like this.
