Weird Weather

Today we had such a beautiful weather, the sky was perfect, the wind was gentle, and the air was so right, wish we could have spend the whole day outside, but had to make dinner LOL

Yah I KNOW!!! lol that is why I said it is not same like Katrina!!!! :rl: lol I already said just small torando!! :nana:

LOL !!!!

but tornado can be BIG.. over 1 mile wide.. especially the infamouse F5 tornado that hit OkC not long ago.. Whew! HUGE tornado.. i never forgot that one as i saw it on tv news. scary!

F1 to F6 depend on favorable conditions for tornado to form with enough energy.

The Fujita Scale of Tornado Intensity

Wow that's scary, I haven't seen a tornado in real life but have seen them on TV or movies...Sometimes I wonder what it like...

i have seen tornadoes before many times.. especially the one big one was F3 .. whew! but never F5 I wanna see that! but never seen one around here. but mostly on tv yeah... :) i wonder too.... but am sure its scary cuz over 1 mile wide??? forget it.. LOL

I'm curious why do they call it F3 or F5?....Is it depends on the mph wind?

yes and how much the tornado damages come from this especially wind speeds hence why they called Fujita scale as they explain each F0 to F6.

Look below.. this will explain clear. :)

F0 Gale tornado 40-72 mph Some damage to chimneys; breaks branches off trees; pushes over shallow-rooted trees; damages sign boards.

F1 Moderate tornado 73-112 mph The lower limit is the beginning of hurricane wind speed; peels surface off roofs; mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned; moving autos pushed off the roads; attached garages may be destroyed.

F2 Significant tornado 113-157 mph Considerable damage. Roofs torn off frame houses; mobile homes demolished; boxcars pushed over; large trees snapped or uprooted; light object missiles generated.

F3 Severe tornado 158-206 mph Roof and some walls torn off well constructed houses; trains overturned; most trees in fores uprooted

F4 Devastating tornado 207-260 mph Well-constructed houses leveled; structures with weak foundations blown off some distance; cars thrown and large missiles generated.

F5 Incredible tornado 261-318 mph Strong frame houses lifted off foundations and carried considerable distances to disintegrate; automobile sized missiles fly through the air in excess of 100 meters; trees debarked; steel re-inforced concrete structures badly damaged.

F6 Inconceivable tornado 319-379 mph These winds are very unlikely. The small area of damage they might produce would probably not be recognizable along with the mess produced by F4 and F5 wind that would surround the F6 winds. Missiles, such as cars and refrigerators would do serious secondary damage that could not be directly identified as F6 damage. If this level is ever achieved, evidence for it might only be found in some manner of ground swirl pattern, for it may never be identifiable through engineering studies

yeah .. I am talk about in here Ontario, canada that only have small tornado :) cause RainGurl thought canada never got before :)

319-379 mph? WOW!! :eek2: that's scary, Thank you so much for explaining and for this information as well too SmileyGin, I'm actually learning alot more about these tornadoes even through I haven't experiences being in one yet...I am also curious where did you see the F3 at? and how much damage did this one did?...Forgive me for asking too much questions, I just got soo interesting LOL :)

i dont see it on news.... where link??? can u provide, pls? :)

I think you can find on Fox News on television if you have channel. I can see little snow. They said its dust snow. I just saw short time and will wait to see if Fox News will rerun I wish.

oh i saw the tornado in 97 in Morrilton where I used to live at. I saw the tornado 3 miles down the road.. It did caused damages .. but no one dead, lucky.. whew..

last Nov.. Tornado did hit thru here but I didnt see it.. it was dark and happened around 7 15 pm.. my sister ran to me and said TORNADO IS COMING.. HURRY.. so we had to get in old house cuz its safe than trailer you know? so we waited it out there .. then after the tornado went thru.. i saw alot of damages to roof on the playhouse, the old house roof, the antenna just snapped! rocking chair flipped over to other side..tin metals everywhere.. HEAVY iron pen around the pretty rose flipped over 4 foot away from originial place. messy here.. still not finish clean up.. lol.. no men here :( sigh.
i did took pics of the damages afterwards.. but we are SO lucky here aint so bad cuz few miles away from here too many damages especially in Plumerville and Sardis so sad.. more than 12 houses are damaged.. totaled.. off the foundation.. vehicles flipped over.. several businesses totalled too.. one person died from this as the 2 x 4 went thru van and killed the person instantly.. :(
