weird things you did to save money???

She was referring to my post where a friend is making a quilt for my mom as a Christmas present. Because I don't have the money to outright pay her, I am doing work for her at and around her house to pay her for it. This also includes working on the quilt as well. If I get money soon, I will see to it that she receives at least some sort of cash payment for it so it is not a complete financial loss for her. It is my hope that it is a win-win for both of us.

OOPS! My Bad! I was thinking it was about the car!

Oh here's something else, if it is less than 2 miles to your destination, walk. If farther but less than 10 miles, ride a bicycle, if it is more than that, drive.
Weather permitting, I do this.

Here is something I want to try to do to save money:

Then, I could build my own furniture - decks, gazebos, playgrounds ... limitless

When I was a kid, I was a talented artist and I drew unicorns. At the time, they were so popular so my peers paid me money to draw unicorns on their notebooks. I kept putting the coins in a jar because i was always too busy to spend them and saw how much money accumulated over time which started my passion for huge coin jars. I have a few in my closet now. One for pennies, one for dimes, one for nickels and a small one for quarters. Been doing that for almost 30 years now.

One of the coin jars paid for my whole trip to the AD meet in NYC. No lie!

wow, thats incredible

In the past, I've volunteered for medical trials. I was able to get free meds and a little money for my time.

For a lot of serious dental work I used the dental clinic at the state medical university. It cost a lot less, and they actually do better work than private dentists. They take their time, are closely supervised, use the latest techniques, and are perfectionist.

refinanced my house and took $15,000 cash . now 5 years less and just pay $50 more than before and will be lowering that tax by at least $100 a month soon. those interest rate were soooo low the bans were giving away money. they wanted me to take an additional $8k with a very good rate but was not gonna pay monthly for it

Go to the Deli counter and ask what meats they will be throwing out at the end of the night, and likely they will sell them to you cheap on the spot just to keep from having to do extra work at the end of the shift. Also if you work at a fast food restaurant, ask if you can take home the leftovers that must the thrown out each night as per Dept. of Health Standards. While cleaning up, just bag it in containers and carry it home with you.
