Remember Mumble, the penguin chick from the movie Happy Feet? Well, he's no longer dancing - he and his fellow penguins are on the march in search of food because their home is melting.

You can help protect penguins from global warming. Adopt a penguin for the holidays and help Defenders of Wildlife save penguins from extinction.

Tragically, penguin populations have decreased by nearly 80 percent in some areas, and the majority of scientists agree that global warming is to blame.

Defenders of Wildlife is leading efforts to both combat global warming and help wildlife adapt to the habitat changes already under way due to our warming planet.

Adopt a penguin for the holidays and help support these vital efforts.

Each penguin adoption comes with a cuddly penguin plush toy, beautiful penguin photo, a fact sheet chock-full of fascinating information about these amazing birds and a personalized Certificate of Adoption.

Even better, your wildlife gift adoption will immediately be put to work by Defenders of Wildlife to promote increased reliance on alternative fuels such as wind and solar and pass vital legislation to help penguins and other wildlife cope with the effects of a warming climate.

As a reminder of your contribution, Defenders will send that special someone on your holiday gift list a plush penguin, a personalized Certificate of Adoption and more. You can even get a kids Wildlife Activities Book - a fun way to teach children about our imperiled animals.

Help Defenders of Wildlife combat global warming and save penguins from extinction -- please consider adopting a penguin today and make this holiday season special.

Thank you for all of your work to protect penguins and fight global warming.

i have a big freezer so I'd like to adopt one, do they post them out?
only teasing, although i don't agree with the glbal warming scaremongering I do agree with helping the animals who may suffer as a result of global warming and welcome any efforts to save them, but I wouldn't waste money on a programme for tree huggers to promote anti fossil fuels, it's not the cause nor will it stop global warming, would be happy to help the penguins, but the other part is a waste of resources.
