Wal-Mart: We're not afraid to say Merry Christmas

Christmas. Kwanazaa. Chanukah. Who cares? Stop being so exclusive and realize not everyone has the same world view as you. I'm sure your rebuttal will include something about God and Jesus, and maybe a bible verse or two.
My point is, "holidays" is not so generic and non-religious as people like to think.

Personally, it's not so important to me what someone "wishes" me. What is important is how I respond.

i still will say "merry christmas" to customers.. doesn't mater their religious. :D

How about we just all say "Merry Chramadanakkuhwanazaamas" and be done with it? Oh yeah, that exlcusivity world view thing.

Walmart excutives is so stupid, they need to scratch their asses more than saying the greetings.

He he no thanks. I spent too many years in speech therapy to want to learn to pronounce a word like "Chramdanakuhwanazaamas". :P

Hey I realize they holy days of each religion are not interchangeable but saying Happy holidays is to me a sign of respect of other people's religion and acknowledges that not everyone is the follower of the same religion as you.

As for celebrating the holy days, this atheist think they're a great excuse for partying.:D I know one atheist who won't celebrate them at all. Me? I draw the lines at attending religious services.

Happy Holidays is a short word for "Chramdanakuhwanazaamas". I don't want to buy "Happy Holiday" cards. I want to buy "Merry Christmas" cards. I want people to know what I celebrate.

If the employer of Walmart want to say Merry Christmas, Let her say it. If the customer want to say Happy Kawanazaa, let him say it. I don't care, as long as both of them are allow to say it.

how many of you know that some people don't like us saying "happy new year" .. some other countries have different new year.

Well, I prefer to SAY "Merry Christmas" rather than to say "Happy Holidays". It's to honor Christ and His Birth. To remember Him who died on the Cross for all of us. Don't forget Him.

Same here....I don't see any harm of doing so either...I rather to say " Merry Christmas than Happy Holidays "...

This doesn't mean that they will say "Merry Christmas" on ALL of their products.

I don't care what they do, as long as they don't go overboard. I've had people who say "Happy Hannukah!" to me, even though I'm not Jewish. I've had people say "Kawanza!" to me, even though I'm not African.

But, I don't care... because it's their religion and I respect that. If Walmart wants to sell some products that say "Merry Christmas", fine with me.

I agree, I even send xmas cards where it says Merry Christmas to all my friends, not at least one person was offended. I don't see what's the fuss about it, You can say whatever you want to say, if Wal-Mart want to say Merry Christmas so what, If they want to say Happy Hannukah, so what, It would not even offended me. Some people just make a big deal out of nothing really. ;)

I don't believe in god, period.

I am strongly agree with you! I always prefer this saying, "Merry Christmas" is strongly clarifying for our religion as Christian, than saying "Merry Holidays."
I rarely said, "Merry Holidays" in my elementary school.
After that a word, I won't be saying "Happy Holidays" anymore.
I love to saying "Merry Christmas" to any kind of our family and
my friends. Because I feel deep love in my heart of Him as I believe in
Jesus Christ at all!

But now, I know after that, I learned anything new. I will say "Happy Holidays"
is only a word for strangers.

Hat's off to Merry Christmas!

I am so happy to hear the news of Walmart greeting with Merry Christmas, I think it was in poor taste to change it. Merry Christmas everybody!!!!!!!!!!! Wanda

Nah, it's true.

It wasn't allowed at Best Buy, Target and several other stores due policies.

You got job at Wal-Mart then that why.
