Vote:Which one you like PS3 or Xbox 360?

Finally, the most telling sign at CES was the lack of any more information about the Sony PS3. Many thought that Sony would at least announce release dates, if not pricing, for the PS3 since it would most likely launch in Japan before E3 kicked off in May. The silence from the Sony camp was somewhat telling. Many studios are banking on the success of the PS3 to bring Blu-ray to the masses. If the PS3 slips to a 2007 release in the US or it comes in at a big price point, the PS3 Blu-ray advantage could be somewhat dulled, if not neutral. Both of those points are possibilities, and Sony's silence at CES did not help dispell rumors, either.

so is it still another delayed schedule for PS3 ? ;) no offense to PS loyalists.

I've seen some blu-ray players priced at more than $1,000. no joke

so I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 was priced the most expensive console to date in the history of videogaming.

yea that is what i heard too but.... will blue ray be successful ? the history may repeat like in 70s sony failed their own format, Betamax, that versused VHS because of $$$$. VHS won.

wait and see how the blue ray can survive.

Yes, but VHS was created due to Sony's fiery patent protection policy on the Betamax forbidding the production of third-party Betamax players.

Blu-Ray will be licensed to several companies from what I know.

the Xbox360 will later on have installed HD DVD Drive for ur console so you can play HD DVDs on it.

so I'm not all that interested in it and I dont even have an HD TV but it's a good thing that it can be opitonal to some xbox360 owners anyway.

Well I would except the ps3 to sell for $399.99, we'll see...

I wouldn't be surprised if some PSfanboys bitch about the prices on the blu-ray games either.

much like the newer games with Xbox360 games going up $59, etc...but I'm sure the prices will wear off and be back to $50 later on.

It happened the same way with the N64 days when it first launched and even with Playstation and the Saturn as well.

no big deal.

oooh treydogg....here's the most thrilling article ever written. :D

do you REALLY think a mulit-billion dollar computer company like Mircosoft would be beaten to death from one of the most popular electronics company like Sony?

then...Mircosoft goes blu-ray too! :D

Xbox community site Xbox Circle reports that in a recent interview with Japanese website ITmedia, Peter Moore admits that the Xbox 360 could see an add-on Blu-Ray drive for movie playback, should the Blu-Ray standard win the DVD format wars. Although HD-DVD is Microsoft's preferred DVD format, Moore says the fact that Xbox 360 would use an external next-gen DVD drive allows them to adapt to whichever standard wins out in the end. And by the same logic, Moore says that the PlayStation 3's built-in Blu-Ray drive could limit Sony's possibilities when and/or if HD-DVD becomes the predominant standard.
Finally, Moore says Microsoft is firm on the decision that (possible) future iterations Xbox 360 will not ship with a built-in HD-DVD drive.

What do you guys think? Personally, I think it is great that Xbox 360 can adapt to whatever happens.

well dude. i cannot answer that because we dont have PS3 released here yet. i dont buy the medias' stories such as postive or negative articles on between 360 and PS2.

since xbox 360 is here, it is super with HDTV that i have played some. the graphic is just awesome.

again it is wrong time to answer that question, dude.
:werd:

I rather say nothing until I've gotten my hands both of them and played them enough.

I also find it laughable that PSfanboys say that the PS3 will have better graphics than Xbox360...well, let's do a little flashback theory, shall we?

Sony NEVER came first before the other consoles. NEVER even came first before Sega did.

But Let's face it, Sega consoles weren't all that great but were pretty good and enjoyable indeed but not as rich as Microsoft or Sony is. We can admit that the Sega Saturn does indeed have better graphics than the Playstation did. no joke. and the saturn controller was kind of comfortable too but later on failed miserably when it didn't have enough good games for the Saturn and was killed instanly by the Playstation, with a better games library such as Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, and Metal Gear Solid while the Saturn games did indeed have some good games too like Nights, Cop, and even Virtual Fighter. It was even the first console from Sega to have an internet connection as well. Sony never showed anything than just games til they came with Playstation 2 that allows to play movies, music, and more. Sega rushed with Dreamcast, hopefully to make the best console ever made and it was, but sadly, it didnt quite do enough for gamers. not very enough good games, either but very well made controller and best graphics ever seen and they were indeed better than the Playstation 2's graphics. Now with Xbox, showing the most powerful graphics processor ever, with such games as Halo, Dead or alive, and Riddick showing the best graphics ever seen as long as with good gameplay and a great storyline, is all what it counts to be one of the greatest games ever made.

Now with Xbox360, it is NOT Xbox 1.5 or is even similar to the orginal Xbox. It has no comparions between the two consoles but only the controllers. graphics running on Xbox360 are definetly the most thrilling and awesome shit u would ever feast your eyes on. I mean, c'mon...it's not that hard to look at the difference between Xbox's King Kong and Xbox360's King Kong...obviously you can tell the differenece.

So really, what makes u think that the PS3 would have better graphics than Xbox360? I'm sorry but I can't stop laughing at this one...

even Saturn and Nintendo 64 surely beats the playstation with its best graphics well made but with Playstation...eh, whatever but hey, fun is what counts anyway.

definetly will NOT buy an console at a price like this!

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) – While there was little doubt the Xbox 360 was going to be a hit in the just completed holiday season, no one was real sure how consumers would react to the $399 price tag.

Despite the $100 bump over the launch price of the original Xbox, few seemed to mind. Now, with Sony's PlayStation 3 looming, it appears another price threshold may be crossed before the year is out

Sony hasn't commented on specific pricing figures, though Ken Kutaragi, president of Sony Consumer Entertainment, reportedly told attendees of a 2005 corporate meeting "it'll be expensive." Analysts and many video game developers, though, suspect the system may debut with a price tag reaching nearly $500.

"[Sony] could now consider launching its PlayStation 3 at a price range of $399 to $499, with the $499 price point more likely," said American Technology Research's P.J. McNealy in a note to clients Monday.

Sony, as you might guess, didn't have much to say about McNealy's theory.

"We haven't made an official announcement about pricing yet," said Ryan Bowling, PR manager for Sony. "At this point, that's all speculation."

The strongest argument behind the $499 price point is the PS3's inclusion of a Blu-Ray drive. This bleeding edge technology will give Sony (Research) significant bragging rights, but it comes at a cost. Pioneer last week at the Consumer Electronics Show unveiled a standalone Blu-Ray player for $1,800.

Obviously, Pioneer's earning some profit there – and Sony will almost certainly subsidize the cost of the drives, but you're still looking at an expensive bit of hardware. The PS3 will also feature other pricey items, such as a hard drive, the Cell processor and a new graphics chip from nVidia (Research).

Developers, for the most part, say they, too, are expecting the PS3 to be more expensive than the Xbox 360's highest price package. Sony, they said, has been sending mixed messages to the gaming world, but several developers I spoke with (under the condition of anonymity) said their studios were expecting the system to launch at $499.

There wasn't universal consensus, though. Some predicted the price would be closer to $450, others said they wouldn't be surprised if it was as high as $600. $700 was mentioned by a couple of developers, though even they said the number seemed unreasonable. And one game maker felt Sony would try to stay in line with Microsoft, offering the PS3 for just $399.

None of the developers, by the way, echoed my hypothetical theory that Sony might be pulling a head-fake on Microsoft with the high price warnings, though a couple did bring up the months of speculation leading up to the PSP's launch. Analysts, journalists and even publishers were wildly grasping for a solid clue about the launch price of the handheld device. (Atari's CEO even publicly proclaimed he expected the PSP to sell for $500.)

Sony, while this went on, smiled enigmatically and did nothing to dissuade anyone that the device would be $300 or more. It launched at $249, still incredibly expensive by handheld standards, but lower than some consumers were expecting.

We're seeing much the same thing with the PS3. After an onslaught of information last May, the company hasn't released any information of substance. Even at CES, the device was an essential no-show. (A hardware design was there to be gawked at and a video loop of potential gameplay footage, but no new information was announced.)

There's one other possibility about the PS3 that few people have discussed: Dual-pricing strategies. It's frustrating from a consumer standpoint, but Microsoft proved it can work – at least in the U.S. Whether Sony's willing to risk fragmenting the market by offering both "bare bones" and "bells and whistles" versions of the PS3 is another matter.

For one thing, it would look as if Sony were following Microsoft's (Research) lead – a vision the market leader does not want to convey. Offering a PS3 with reduced features would also chip away at the company's stance that the system is much more than a video game machine.

Whatever Sony decides, we should start to get some sort of clarification in the next few months – almost certainly by E3 in May. One thing's for sure, though: For saying a whole lot of nothing, Sony has somehow managed to keep everybody talking about its product.

Well we will wait and see but I'm sure they're going to try it at $399 to stay in line with Xbox.

As usual, I'm just gonna wait and buy the consoles when the price drop. In fact, I might even get a better system or a better deal later. ;)

That would be illegal in some places because some of the laws forbid the competitor from selling a product below its production costs because it's a way of killing the competition.

It's not going to happen if it costs more than $400.

I vote NES as the best video game system of all the time. :)

here, I vote for the Nintendo 64 and Xbox as one of the best gaming systems ever made.

Thanks to games like N64's Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, and even Turok.

Thanks to Xbox's games like Halo and Dead or alive 3.

(I have like 23 games for N64 and 26 games for Xbox now.)

Steel, I think PS3 will win because it has full backwards compatibility not halfway like the 360.

At least I can feel safe knowing I can play my Mega Man X Collection on the PS3.

yes i hear it will have backwards compatiblity for PS2 games but never anywhere hear anything about playing the orginal PS games and hasn't hear anything about the console having memory card slots where you can share the PS2 data on the PS3 console.

of course, we shall wait and see what's up with that.
