I guess you have totally missed the creedo of Islam -- To Dominate, To Subjegate, To Annihilate and their favorite rant "Death to America"

I think you're making a mistake by lumping all Muslims together.

Not surprising though. You people will believe anything.

Facts are facts and strange things, they do not change.
No lumping at all Brad, yes, some people will believe anything to include that Islam is a peaceful religion.
I, however, prefer to deal in facts. Nothing to contrive about a fact.

No difference than Christian extremists.

My religious friend whose father is a minister told me about Chaplains. That's how I knew of it. At first - I thought they were a coward for not participating in combat but at the end of lecture from him, that's when I had a huge respect for them. War is not won by guns. It's by size of faith in each soldier.

This is an awesome story, I had to send it to my family and friends.

I personally think that soldiers should be allowed to leave the military if they feel they cannot handle fighting a war. I don't care if it is called desertion or not. That's the government's opinion, not mine.

My sister is in the Navy. I fear EVERY SINGLE DAY that she will be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan. If she gets sent there, I will be very upset and sad. I do not want to lose her. She is my only sister. I would like for her to be able to leave the military if she has been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan but she does not want to go.

Do you know why my sister is in the Navy? My dad talked her into it. I am so mad at my dad for that. He does not care about us.

She should be fine. The only Navy people I ever saw in Iraq were high ranking ones who had bomb dogs. That is all, the rest from what I have heard stay on the boats.

I honestly think that is sad that he would run and hide from going. I was supposed to be getting out of the Army when they told me that I wasnt and in fact they were extending my active duty contract another year and sending me to Iraq a second time. And he was only there for 5 months? That is nothing, I was there a year each and there are others who have been there even longer. I don't agree with the war either but it is the fact that I made a commitment, I signed my name and I raised my right hand and swore an oath to my country that I would serve. You didn't see me run and hide like a child.

Officers were the dog handlers? That's unusual; usually they are enlisted.

Boats? No ships?

:ty: for your service.

that's too bad. it's called DESERTION. It's punishable by death (but of course we don't do that). The soldiers cannot just "quit" and leave like in civilian world. the laws are different and what soldier did was illegal.

Sorry but I have a problem with that. I think that a soldier should be allowed to stop fighting if he doesn't like what he sees. To force someone to do a job against their wishes is called Slavery and I'm against that.

Leibing: when is this article dated? Is it a recent thing?

slavery is a forced labor by oppressors
American military is a 100% voluntary service where you signed the contract to uphold the oath to defend American and the Constitution

what about signing a contract to get a mortgage? if you cannot keep the promise as specified in contract, the bank will forcibly take your house. is bank stealing your house and being a thug by kicking you out of your own home? nope.... same thing!

he doesn't have to join military if he doesn't like to fight. what did he expect? a beer party around the world for free?

Maybe he didn't realise that he would be shooting at civilians? I've read about USA occupation in Iraq. It's really horrible.

I'm all for personal responibilities, but I'm also in favor of conciencious objectors too. If that involves deserting, so be it.

To me their is a major differance between not killing someone because you realise that it is wrong, and people CAN change their minds, and losing a house because you haven't kept up with the morgage.

American soldiers volunteer for military service. It is not slavery or even impressment. A soldier can't stop fighting just because "he doesn't like what he sees." There would be no order or discipline, and no victory in battle. It would be total chaos, and endanger their fellow soldiers. I'm sorry but you don't understand military operations.

You are right, I don't. I'm against warfare.

Wasn't he in germany though when he quit? He quit because he didn't want to be sent back to Iraq. I would like to see all the soldiers in the world up and quit.

If both sides of each war did that, it might work. The problem is, if one side quits the other side takes over. Suppose the United States and all the Allied forces had quit during WWII? Then Hitler and the Axis would have won.

military is NOT allowed to shoot at civilians. it's an ancient-old cardinal rule to not kill civilians during warfare, especially Americans. but mistakes do happen... unintentionally. You have to understand that majority of forces in Iraq is the private contractors. They were the one who operated above the law. They were the one who recklessly shoot at civilians.

Desertion is not an example of personal responsibility.

not killing someone? then you rather let the enemy kills you?

I wasn't sure about their rank, just that they were a higher rank. I don't know the Navy ranks I know it wasn't officer because those are the same as the armies. I just wasnt sure what in enlisted.

As far as the what they road it was ships but me being Army we give them all the same name lol sorry.

Enlisted Navy people have rates (paygrade) and ratings (specialties). Navy officer ranks and Army officer ranks are not the same. For example, a Navy captain is an O-6 but an Army captain is an O-3.
