Are you guys support Universe Health Care in USA? Do you want to be same as Canada's system or different? I just wonder.

I was not making a comment. I was making a true factual statement
Mexico is full of Canadians getting healthcare & dental care. I just wanted to know why would Canadians go to Mexico when they have it free at home.

Thank you for post with news link. It's so sad! I can't believe why it take 34 hour wait in ER? Geez... If I were stay at ER for 34 hours without treatment. I would yell and SUE on hospital for unresponsive and neglect.

It's different currency rate, just like measure, such as inch to feet.

Cost of magazine has nothing with health care issue.

Universal health care in many countries have different policies, system and others but simply of universal health care is similar to Canada for government or others to funds on health care, USA could adopt universal health care with different policies (rule) than in Canada, ER in some other countries with universal health care are seriously considered, some others require wait time.
 
pinky,. i think that costs magaiz.. it goes to health care.. here in usa is cheaper than there.. bec we dont pay tax to health care.. that is why..

same thing in eupro.. they use tax for health care.. same idea..

Not true, magazine is cost little more in Canada than in USA because of different currency rate (different measure rate, like inch to feet), it has nothing with tax to universal health care.

Universal health care in Canada got funds from various of taxes, federal, province and others.
 
Its not the goverments job to take care of me
Im perfectly capable of taking care of myself & my family

The more you invite the goverment into your life the more they take over
If I wanted to live in a socialist country I would move to Canada

Yup, it's from taxes, usually from payroll tax.

That's interesting. I read gonewild's link of news. I am not surprise why it take 34 hour wait in ER? When I was in ER and stay in room for 2 to 4 hours for treatment and IV.

I'm not sure if it's against Canada's law or policies to do like that, if did then hospital would be in big trouble.

ER is all depends on individual, if you have heart attack then you will be taken in so immediately, if you are just sick like cough or sore throat, or broken in leg or arm then would wait for while, I had wait for 4 hours for broken bone in end of my finger in last 3 years ago due ER was very full.

Banjo might know what is going on. The hospital should get into trouble for neglect and unresponsive to patient.

I went to ER many times. I can't count it. Yes, ER always be full.
 
No system is perfect. But there is innovation and a lot of research going on. The medical equipment is constantly evolving.

I know this nice young woman in particular. She moved to Denmark three years ago, because she was getting married to a Dane. It was quite a challenge for her to become an official EU citizen. However, Danish government forbids her to marry him because she was not 24 years old yet and was a foreigner. According to her, Danish government kicks 83% out if a person is over 24 years old saying that they have a stronger tie to the non native country . They were forced to move to Sweden next door.

Anyway, She mentioned regarding her experiences with universal health care. According to her, Denmark was worse than Sweden. She have always had chronically clogged sinuses. Their medical board has not approved any decongestants. When she went in with bronchitis and clogged sinuses, she was told her options were to go to an ENT twice a day to get them flushed whenever they got clogged, or to get a hole drilled in her head. She smuggles decongestants in from the US.

She is pregnant now. She hadn't ever been given a pregnancy test there. She had to order some from the UK to confirm the pregnancy test. She had been to the midwife 3 times, but it was not until week 22 that she will find anything out. She had been told she may not be allowed to know the sex of the baby until week 34, because they don't want the mother knowing at that point. She was very concerned and mentioned her family medical history such as placenta abruption. They told her that it is not procedure to do anything until complications occur. That is something that you do not want to hear that from your doctor! She recently had to come to the US for an ultrasound ensuring everything was all right.

Then back yourself up with credible sources to show that thousands of Canadians do go to Mexico for healthcare needs. Not that I see why they would go there.

I don't know a single person who went to Mexico for any sorts of treatment. The only people I know who received treatment in any foreign countries were because they got sick or injured on their vacation trips over there.

Besides, that ER thing? The staff at the ER neglected their duties, not because of the healthcare system. They were just stupid.

It also happens in the USA quite more than a few times. Like that woman who puked blood and passed out on the floor of a hospital and the janitor cleaned around her while nobody came to her assistance.
 
Banjo I live in Texas and I see it first hand
we cross the border all the time - we like to go tool around in Mexico & I see not only Canadians but Americans as well.

In the Rio Grande Valley they fly not only the American flag but they also fly the Canadian flag - every year thousands of Canadians flock to the area, they are called 'Winter Texans' by the locals. I guess they come for the warmer weather & the cheap healthcare they can recieve across the Mexican border. You dont even need a written prescription to buy drugs there.

But you are right about the death of that poor fella, his death was not related to the free healthcare system Canada has but more to neglect. & Yess I absolutley remember the story you speak of the janitor mopping around the lady who had puked blood. I had forgot about that.

ETA: The Monitor is the local newspaper for Mission Texas which is part of the Rio Grande Valley.
