TacoBell Zombie Dog  It's hard to believe there's a dog looking like this and it does not look comfortable. When I first saw this dog, I thought maybe it's computer-generated science fiction dog that you would see in a movie. I feel bad that it's not healthy dog.

I don't think it's funny. :(

Sam have poor healthy. I would of adopt him and put him sleep right way to save his suffer.

How do you feel if anyone make fun of you?

take a heart people, you too Liebling!!

this dog is just very very old- 14 years old for crissake!
had and have loving home. he's gotta, since he's 14 years old! Their life expectancy is 10 to 12 years.
So 14 is more than good! he must have a very caring owners.

The owner said that is the last competition appearance of the dog. BTW the dog won three years by row!!

Chinese crested, is a hairless dog breed and actually these are very cute dogs which reminds me of tiny horsies:

There is more breeds of hairless dogs some bigger some small you may look them up on Google.

let me assure you again the dog is very well taken care of and no harm is being done to him.
And I agree I would cuddle him, smooch him and pet him forever !!

I STILL wanting to cuddle him, give kisses, giving hugs, and that ugly dog is BEAUTIFUL! I wanna put a cute red bow on his head, and put $1,000 dollars diamond collar on this cute ugly dog.

I know, that is why my name fit right - and sure you can call me crazy :fly:

ahhh that explains the redness thing... haha. My former roommate was a redheaded too... Got it...

Sorry I has to disagree with you.

I would of put Sam in sleep when I were Sam's owner. Please take to have a REAL GOOD LOOK on the picture of SAM in 1st thread. He is BLIND!!!!!!!! and have poor healthy (heart/kidney failure). I can't understand why Sam's owner took him to "Ugliest Contest" and won... This is a sick and cruel condition. How do the owner feel when I get her to Ugliest Contest?

What Sam's owner did is a f**king joke!!!

I can see the link you gave is a different from Sam. You can't compare hairless dogs with Sam because they don't have poor healthy as Sam. I feel like to cuddle him and tell him to have a good sleep and peaceful.

I would put him to sleep too because it is suffering badly. I would not want this dog to keep suffering with the pains plus blind. I hope by now the owner did.

:Ohno:

are u joking me?!

I know this dog is like 13 yrs old, he is very happy with home and owner. Amazes me, He reminds me of a old movie, you know Gremlins?
How about... Return of the Living Dead? ;)

To Liebling..

I would of put Sam in sleep when I were Sam's owner.

I would advice you to be careful with putting your pet to sleep just because it's old and sick.

The veterinarians here, despite the $$$$ they can make by performing euthanasia, advise against putting an animal to sleep as long as it shows the will to live.
If it's eating, showing interest in it's surrounding, basically showing this will to live, it may very well WANT TO LIVE.
An animal who doesn't want to eat anymore, sleeps all the time now that's a different story.

Just because Sam is blind it is no reason to put him to sleep. By this way of thinking ALL the blind dogs, young or old should be put to sleep.

Now his other health conditions - Sam might be on medicines, and pain medicines that help him to have fairly comfortable life.
I had a cat who suffered from severe arthtritis and while on painkillers his mood perked up his energy increased and he lived this much longer despite having an arthtritis.

And please remember - we don't know how the competition was done- I don't know- maybe that was only by showing the picture?
Either way, Chinese Crested is a very small dog, it fits into medium bag and can be very comfortably taken from place to place. I do not believe Sam's owners would cause him unneccessary suffering.
They obviously love their dog since it it still alive and the dog must require a lot of work now... surely uncaring owners would not go thru the hassle of caring for sick and old dog but rather take the easy way out- put "grampa" to sleep and buy new, pretty one??

And, a pet that is NOT taken loving care off, wouldn't EXCEED his life expectancy..

as for this I am not sure what you mean:
You can't compare hairless dogs with Sam

I only showed the links for you to see what this dog looks like when it's young, because someone said a hairless dog must be ugly.. it's not

I still think that the owner does not want to spend the money for vet since then. The dog is growing his/her health problems. Now, you see that this dog cannot see anything. Isn't that obvious?

Yes it is. It is!

so, my questions is this-

1. so what of it?
2. what kind of eye disease/degeneration is this?
3. what caused this?
4. what could be done about it?
5. is it sufficient reason to put the dog to sleep?
