Trying to understand

No, no, no.

ASL uses SEE signs.

Wait, they're signs. Oh I know, the ASL doesn't do a sign, it does SIGNS. More than one sign, appearantly, not many people can read more than one sign to learn. It takes time to break down the sign into a word in one's mind. Oh perhaps, it depends on the IQ?

I'm just saying SEE is easier for those who already know English in order to learn ASL.

Since ASL preceeded SEE by many, many years, it is impossible for ASL to use SEE signs.

But people who already know English aren't learning another language when they learn SEE. They are still using English.

You still have to learn more signs for SEE than you do for ASL. And, quite often, it is conceptually innacurrate.

The real question is not which is easier, but which is more effective from a communication perspective.

Concepts, Facts, Statstics, who needs them.

Why not take advices from those who has advices.

You're just one old stubborn person who doesn't take in considerations or advices.

Granted, SEE has more signs than ASL, but ASL signbooks doesn't have everything, the people who acknowledge ASL can make up signs that people actually understand. It's the common sense, hence, the wolf.

Everyone needs concepts. Otherwise there is no communication.

BTW, when you sign in SEE, do you sign the word "advise" or the word "advises" with the "s" added on?

Not communication. Ideas.

I don't advise you to reject my advices anymore.

Yes, I do, BTW. SEE has suffixs and roots that you can sign. ASL don't. It's a reason why I can understand English perfectly well and in time, I can portary ASL in English just fine. One thing about ASL is that

THEY EXAGGERATE. So do the internet, to grab people's attention.

Again, concepts = ideas

Communication = Dialogue

In that case, both your English and your English signing are incorrect. The word "advice" does not have a plural form.

So much for SEE.

You asked of Advise and Advises.

Not Advice and Advices. Hello.

People are saying it nowadays. What are you, a dictionary?

epic fail. i think we need to bring in Bottesini

I don't get it. Why are you always saying bad things about ASL? When you criticize ASL, you're insulting all of the ADers here who use ASL to communicate. What makes you better than an ASL user just because you use SEE? If SEE is so much better than ASL, perhaps you would have realized that "advices" is not a word.

By the way, if Jillio had not pointed that out to you, I would have. (I was called "Little Miss Dictionary" in high school. :giggle:)

If you can understand the English language perfectly, why did you make three grammatical errors in your post above? The first bolded text should read "advice." The second bolded text should read "ASL doesn't" and the third bolded text should read "So does the Internet." Since I'm feeling nice today, I won't even point out all of the spelling errors you made.

Note to all ADers: I don't normally criticize people's grammatical errors, but this time I felt I had to say something given imdeafsowhat's constant put down of ASL. :pissed:

Hello ???!!! Advice does not have a plural form (no "s").

Advises is not plural of Advise, either. Just because there's an "s" doesn't make it plural.

Get your facts straight before you start criticizing others for SEE, ASL, and the English language. Whether any of it is signed, spoken, or written.

Sorry Jillio and HearAgain - I see you already stated what I just said -- I hit reply after imdeafsowhat's comment without reading on.

Hahahaha, I wasn't aware that I had to polish up my English. If you want to be like this, go for it. I don't care. I am not against ASL, I am merely saying that learning SEE is easier and faster than learning ASL, because nowadays people speak English and with SEE signing exact english, it's reasonable that people can learn SEE by doing one sign at a time.

Not ASL where you have to learn the signs by rephrasing the sentence from English into ASL. It's a bit complex.

Try to understand what I'm saying, not the words I'm using.

Jillio is attacking me. Am I supposed to be turned on?

I got what your mean now. Maybe it is easier for some if they are unable to completely form a 2nd language location in their brains.

I was thinking for children.

Really, neither ASL nor English is easier nor harder than the other to learn.
