Tropical storm Irene approaches

Winds are getting tooo brutal. Going to the basement because my neighbor's two trees are tilting towards my house. I am afraid that they will topple over. This is becoming a little frightening right now. When it is over, I will come back. Stay safe!

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts. I hope to hear from you in the morning.

DAMMMMN!!!! looks like it is a possible that a part of our roof blew off...water is coming through the ceiling in our master bathroom.

We dont have hurricane home insurance so does that mean no insurance coverage?

Does your insurance cover storm damage (most do)?

now I can hear wind howling :(

I told my family that it's best if we go to my apt cuz I feel safer there. I never liked living in a place with whole entire walls of windows

Is everyone in your apartment now?

no. we'll sit tight here for now and we'll go to my apt if situation is worsening. the wind ain't looking pretty right now.

The evacuation shelter is at my town high school near here. My condo notified us that its library and community room can be used if the residents are feeling unsafe in their home.

tornado watch's until 5am. looks like it's going to be a long night....

Where is your apartment in relation to your parents' condo?

just a few towns away (15 min away) but inside neighborhood. at least it's not like our condo sticking out like a lighthouse.

I think it's too late to move. You will have to stay where you are.

it is too late. since we've been thru a few hurricanes and aggressive storms like this before.... we'll be ok but it's still hairy.

I pray that you'll all be safe. Good night.

Wow, I'm getting nervous and I'm on the other side of the continent!!! I'll keep all you East-Coasters in my thoughts. Be safe, and I'm wishing the best for everyone!!!!

uh-oh.....

you can just write it off as rain damage from different time... I think....

That is called fraud.... And a big reason why insurance rates are higher than they should be.

But.....the roof damage would most likely be covered by insurance.

Oh boy, my house is in Cape Cod. I wish that our U.S Military just shoot some kind of a missile at Irene now before it hits our home. :(
I am sure that we have a modern technology, and they didn't want to do it.

Shooting a missile?? Really?? It does not work dude... You can not stop mother nature.

It is higher than usual. They did a 30% Hike after the Hurrincanes in Florida. :(

And they are talking to raising it again.
