I like the game camera idea - just be sure to put it somewhere where it can't be taken down. Some of them have a bright flash and it would be easy for the thief/thieves to tell they had their picture taken.

Also, there are some security cameras that you can program to be motion activated. You can hide those a lot better.

I knew someone that a camera set up so could they could see on a TV if anyone trespassing. They could call 911 and the cops would be there in a second .

I have a cam, but packed somewhere that will wirelessly feed to my laptop and record if any motion, but cant find it.
I am ordering 2 wireless alert systems one will be at the back property line and one at the front, if anyone crosses the path it will alert us in the home, I can set it up to turn on certain lights and notify by cellphone app as well. But we are still checking into the best home security system also. There is a new one out with tons of features but Im only interested in so much of it.
Once I get to the stage of installing a fence ( privacy ) I will have automatic gates so we can come and go without having to get out and open them, and to let visitors onto the property. But that will be awhile yet before any fencing goes up, will be nice to let the dogs out to roam off the runners and my son can play outside also.

Hope you find the camera that you have packed before you order anything else to prevent duplication.

You should have as many cameras that you can afford.

In my opinion he shouldn't have to have ANY cameras but now days no one respects other people or their property and think they can just do whatever they want and it's become a neccesity to install some type of alarm system or cameras to protect your own belongings. 40 or 50 years ago he could have left the doors wide open and not worry about a thing.

I agree with you . It's a bummer we have to be even having this conversation , my parents kept our back door unlock all day when we where home and thought nothing of it. The tenant that moved out of my building would get so drunk he would forget which building he lived in and go to wrong building at all odd hours at night and bang on the wrong door and wake up the woman . It was a good thing she kept her door looked or the drunken fool would had walk right and think the woman was in his home. Times are difference and will only worst b/c cites and town are getting so overcrowded . When I first moved to this condo 30 years ago there was only one or two people living in a unit. Now there 3 people and we have more tenants living here and that is really bad news.
