Tips on to burn extra calories in your daily routines

When cooking - use your canned goods as weights to lift.

When bringing groceries in the house (on good weather days), lift the bags (as long as they are those plastic or recyclable ones) like weights.

When doing laundry, do push-ups against the washer and dryer.

On floors with no carpet, spray your socks with floor polish and dance to the tunes or just slide around polishing your floors. Better yet, carry a small child while doing so and they get to "dance" with mom or dad.
 
I see yard work. When I raked leaves few weeks ago and I lost few lbs from doing this. Now I see all wild weeds pop up everywhere so it is time for me to start yard work.

Also when I watch TV, the commercial come on then I do some exercise and stop when show is on then next commercial then start all over again.
 
My diet plan for new year:
Get off lazy butt and walk dogs. Do yoga everyday. Oh yeah, and try not to eat whole box Captain Crunch in one sitting.
 
if do-able physically for you -

park far down in lot and walk to store.

use steps, not elevator.

use escalator like actual stairs, don't just ride it.

swing your arms while walking to get them activated too.

jog in place or ride an exercise bike while watching tv.

try some Tai Chi.

breathe from your whole being, not just your chest.
 
I had nabisco 100 cal bag. It has a good comment/tip on the bag. It says,
"snacktime inspirations: don't let technology keep you from beig fit. you can burn extra calories by getting away from your desk and visiting your co workers instead of calling or emailing them. "

I read somewhere that sex burns more calories than a workout session. Even masturbating burns like 500 plus calories. I think if everyone does it on a daily basis, all wars would end! :lol:

Seriously folks, a good tip (at least for me) is to use green tea or light popcorn as an afternoon snack so that I wont be starving for dinner. I try to eat light dinners.

This helped me lose 20 lbs once. Too bad Ive gained it all back!!!!

That's what I will do...the campus is so huge you can't but help be forced to walk more than you want to...hence 1/3 of us lost weight, like me. xD

Play the active games on the Wii. Some are so fun you have no idea you've been moving for that long.
