Kind of bad:

I find this hard to believe because it is almost summer. When did this happen?

Midwestern states are known to have tornadoes as well as strong thunderstorms that comes with hails. The bigger hail gets really nasty to do significant damage.

When we had extremely dry conditions a couple years ago, we, too, were at risk for wildfires, but thankfully it never happened. However, it did make me realize that it's not just California that can have wildfires. Any state that has a bunch of trees and vegetation like Illinois does can also be at risk. What a wake-up call that was then. Just look at Oklahoma.

Hail is a common occurance with the approach of a tornado. They fall just before one touches down. I've seen it before.

Yup. Unfortunately some people just don't get it when they get lost in the woods and either start a fire or shoot a flare, and ignite a wildfire. This is why I prefer to go with someone experienced, so I won't be finding myself in those shoes.

now why would they shoot a flare?

that's not inexperience.... that's illegal

:laugh2:

I was facepalming too hard to even ask the question...

Who the hell goes in the woods with a flare? Who the hell goes into the woods and needs a flare and then shoots it off? Better yet, when is the last time you heard of a fire being started with a flare gun? :laugh2:

Idiots in California. That's how one of the CA wildfires got started. I think it was last year, but not quite sure, but I know I saw an article on it.

You are really.... really.... bad at getting points....

The point we were going for is it is not exactly common for someone to start a wildfire with a friggin flare gun... Here are the top causes of them for you. In case you are getting too excited, I looked further into human carelessness from fireworks and in detail it is celebratory fireworks such as 4th of July ect ect ( Peak wildfire season ) and mentions not once about a flare gun. VOLCANIC ACTIVITY beats wildfire causes over flare guns... :laugh2: Enough said. Anything else you'd like me to break down for you?

What is the main cause of wildfires

Hey, I had a Kia Sportage I bought when I was 18 or 19 that was brand new I got super cheap because it had a few pings from hail. Nothing wrong with it, just a tiny bit of ping damage on the roof which you couldn't even see because it was an SUV and 1 or 2 pings here or there. Nobody even ever noticed it until I pointed them out. Those look pretty intense though... :ugh:

Hail happens when surface temperatures are warm enough to promote the instability that is associated with strong thunderstorms, but the upper atmosphere is still cold enough to form ice. It forms in clouds in strong thunderstorms, where the updrafts of warm air with high water content meet a very cold cloud layer that is below freezing. These same updrafts are found where there is also tornado formation, although you can easily have tornadoes without hail and hail without tornadoes.

And this is why hail forms in warm weather, and not in winter or cold weather.

in London east end just for min or so we had snow I believe it was only in that small part of london
