Soft sound sensitivity syndrome
Hi Jen,
I did a search on the internet for SSSS and came across your posting. I have the same thing. I have had it for as long as I can remember, and the typical eating and breathing sounds cause me severe anxiety, as well as people dragging their feet, pronouncing the letter "S", the chrip of Nextel phones, the slamming (or simply the closing) of car doors, etc. Please hang in there and know that you are not alone. Have you explored the chat group in Yahoo, led by Marsha Johnson (the person who came up with the name for this)? I recently joined and she seems to have access to anti-hearing aids, which tune out some frequencies. Have you tried these yet?
