Well if they are busy.....they are busy. But downtime is wasted money. They were hired to work, yes?

ok.

But if they have down time there are too many....

Not even close....especially when benefits are added in.

Without benefits, how does they get health insurance?

"temp" - an outside contractor. we pay them by hour. if they work for agency - they usually do have a benefit. The temps we hire are are private contractors and i assure you that they ain't cheap.

as for health insurance - well... not really my problem.

Yup like my interpreter is contractor and doesn't offer health insurance, but lucky her husband does have health insurance for entire of families.

Well, I do care because increase of uninsured patients in ER has drove the medical cost up, with many thing that influenced on health cost. I'm going find out if Obamacare is going fix this problem.

feel free to work in university and see it for yourself :)

No thanks....I would be bored to death.

lol... it would be interesting to see one with labor experience running the university

Very similar actually.

Both deal with the government. (FEMA/FAFSA)

Both have customers that think they know everything but don't (fire victims/college students)

Both have to deal with pesky whiners (inspectors/Faculty)

Both have to deal with fraud (insurance/academic)

Both have to kiss some ass and schmooze (adjusters/Alumni)

Both have rules to abide by (Building codes/Accreditation)

Both have disputes to handle (Homeowner vs insurance/Student vs Prof)

Both have problems with sexual harassment.

Both have to recruit (Insurance companies/students)

Both have to deal with racial issues

The difference is......A University has depts for each of these things.....I did it all myself.... :)

You hire expensive private contractors to process applications???

How much, mind me asking?

It could cost $1,000 to $5,000 per month, depends on plan and coverage that you pick, also it require health exams before admit into insurance coverage.

People with many health problem would be denied to be covered if you purchase a full health insurance.
