Would that imaginary relaxed schedule have freed you up to go to the World Deaf Expo in Las Vegas in July?

Imaginary? Geez. No, it's just July is all messed up and I wish I could take time off work for the entire month. Skafest, Fernfest, reptile expo in Vancouver, Capital EX in Edmonton where I met a few Deaf families there; would like to meet them again this year. Not to mention the DeafNation expo. I hate having to choose-- so I am stuck, especially two of those events are traditionally held in the spring, not the summer.

Understood. My "imaginary" was not an affront; it was sympathetic of your wishing a couple of "a couple of those events would reschedule themselves to the traditional April/May".

So, yeah, looks like you've a plateful and hectic schedule and are forced to pick and choose.

Just took the kids outside for an hour. It was a challenge to get to the highway from my street on foot because the snow was up to my chest and my kids kept getting stuck. Finally got to the highway where they climbed on snowdrifts and did some sledding on the boogie board. then we walked up hill on the highway and saw many people walking up and down the highway going food shopping at the nearby store. I was surprised that the food store was open. So, I ran up and down the highway pulling my kids on the boogie board and they enjoyed that so much. They kept asking me for more so I kept doing it and doing it but had to stop because a heavy band of snow started to pass us which resulted in blizzard-like conditions with blowing wind and heavy heavy snow. It got too much for us because we couldnt see any further than 5 feet ahead. So, we started walking back in the blowing wind and snow and tried to get back on the street and my son got stuck in the snow..tried to get him out but my arms were so tired from shoveling and pulling the kids. I got a little scared but my daughter helped me and we got him out. The snow was right up to his head. I took pics and I will post them later. Now, I can see how dangerous this storm is. This storm by far beats the Dec 18th storm hands down.

Now, my legs and my arms are shaky from all that exercise. LOL! My son is totally wiped out and sleeping soundly. We were getting a bit of cabin fever so it was nice to do that although things did get dicey with the blizzard-like conditions hitting us like that.

weather still rainy and windy here

I saw on the news that this storm is very dangerous for LA residents. I heard that there was an evacuation because of mudslides. What a crazy day for the East and West coast!!!

Ugh...I want spring to get here! SO we can go out and enjoy the fresh air! I hate cold...ugh! HURRY UP!

Snow stopped to fall in my area this morning. Snow covering is about 3 inches. Not so bad. I had going to work for purple to do service with customer. I took rent a compact car to drive and road was very slippery. Shit! it s window wiper washer won't wash while freezing. I tried to stop at customers apt but I can't drive thought parking lots beacuase snow depth is 12 inches. wow and now use it on street. Then walking hard on snow to her apt building. When i was way to home, road is good! I dislike Suzuki rent car. I should get my SUV but my company have paid for it and gas.

Haha. Yeah. Thinking of only going to the DeafNation Expo this year, unless this girl want to go to to one of the other ones. I need a break from the hearing world.

Might be tough to do, especially if the temps haven't risen. Too bad you don't have a neighbor who has a plow. When I was growing up, my Dad had a weird looking Jeep (a Willys, I think) with a blade in front and he would clean many neighbors' driveways and not charge a thing. We were into basic bartering when I was growing up.

That is nice of your dad. My hubby had to go to work at the liquor store so I shoveled all by myself for 3 hours and got a surprise visit from my brother so he is helping me. Thank goodness!!! After 3 hours, I was ready to give up and there was a lot left to shovel. It also didnt help that my kids kept bugging me about wanting to go sledding andall the fun stuff. I told them if they didnt stop bugging me, I wouldnt take them at all. That worked for while. I feel like eating junk food for the Superbowl game tonight. :D

Yeah, Shel. People shoveling always worries me. So be careful. There are a lot of people who keel over and die when they shovel because it is so cold outside that they often do not feel the exertion their body is undergoing. Nice of your brother to stop by.
