he mentioned earlier in AD that he's off to SKA concert and that was when he got hit by a car. so souggy's situation is a great example.

He went to what he loves and there he met a dame with mutual interest :aw:
 
Guys, try taking a class that interests you at your community center, join a club, volunteer for a cause that you're passionate about, etc. If you're creative, you can meet people with similar interests without breaking the bank.

I just bought a 20 pound bag of sticky rice. My kids love it!
 
Go to punk shows...

Rock-climbing...

Drumming circles...

Pet expos...

Hiking...

Camping...

Fishing....

Rugby, soccer, field-herping, buying books, reading books in public... and yes I got a few dates by reading books in a hallway or at a bus stop. The best one was when I snagged a date with a Catholic while reading the Qu'ran.

The key is the more you put yourself out there in the public's eyes, the more likely you're going to run into someone. If you go to events you enjoy, then you're able to find people with similar interests.

So... get out there. We invented the BlackBerry to help deal with our Internet addictions, so there is no excuse. Use your iPhone when you're out and about.

yup! I can't tell you how many times that suggestion works for most of my friends and it doesn't cost that much to do it! There's this old friend of mine who we thought he'll never get laid because of his "lame" lifestyle by our standard. He's a horror movie addict and his interests are just too weird for my taste. But...... he met a rather attractive girl from some place he frequents to - some kind of role-playing event. We were :-o because she was attractive and he is not. Although the relationship didn't last that long.... he's got it and we RESPECT :)
