Hear Again said:i'm sorry to hear that, cheri.
it looks like you and i are in the same boat. i've been suffering with an upper respiratory infection for the past several days and according to my doctor, it won't start to clear up for another 8 days. it all began with a migraine, vomiting, fever, chills and extreme sound sensitivity. i've been sneezing so much that my chest hurts.
fortunately, i no longer have a migraine and my temperature is down from 101 to 97 degrees.
by the way, do you have a humidifier? that should help you breathe a little easier.
hope you feel better soon.
Oh, speaking of my body not being in good shape, I made one change not long ago, perhaps some here remember. I used to dring one cup of coffee each day. I stopped drinking coffee and started drinking one cup of cocoa per day. Since that time, I've gained 16 pounds. Now I'm 24 pounds over weight, and I feel like it too! Can't go back to coffee though because my Meniere's can't handle it any more. QUOTE]
Try sugar-free or fat free cocoa? What about decaf coffee? I cant give up my coffee but if I have to one day, I will just switch to decaf coffee to fool my body into thinking Im getting caffeine

Somebody told me that decaf still has caffeine in it, but just not as much. If it turns out that's not true, that it is caffeine free, I will gladly switch to decaf!
Thanks and yes I do have a humidifier, it doesn't seem to work much for me, but I do use it anyways. I didn't have a very good sleep last night, I took Tylenol sinus but it makes you non-drowsy. I need something stronger to knock me out would do it. lol I am gonna go to the store later on today and I do hope you feel better too.
Are you sure they're not sedating? They both seem to sedate me! But then, my mom's an alien, and most people suspect my dad is too.
i know for a fact that allegra (which i take on a daily basis), allegra-d (which i'm currently taking and it's making me wired), claritin-d, clarinex and zyrtec-d (which i've also taken before) are all non-sedating.
i'm not thinking clearly today. yes, benadryl is sedating, but i'm pretty certain that sudafed allergy/sinus is not.
if cheri is going to a drugstore like walgreen's, perhaps she can ask the pharmacist there for a non-drowsy otc sinus/allergy med.
personally, i've always had good luck with allegra, allegra-d, zyrtec-d and standard zyrtec.
otherwise if an otc decongestant doesn't help, she might want to ask her doctor for an antibiotic.
Same doctor gave you Allegra-d as gave psychiatric meds?
That has psuedo=ephidrine and is a stimulant related to amphetamines. They make meth out of it.
Not recommended for people who become manic.
do any of you have suggestions for soothing a raw, sore throat?
Good idea, ask the pharmacist for what you're looking for. It's what they do for a living
I'm on more medication than I'm used to, but I have to admit that I'm learning to function better on all this medication since my doctors seem to think I need it so often these days.
