this is the last response i'm going to make to your posts. while it is true that there are some bipolars who use their illness as an excuse, that doesn't hold true for a majority of people. if medical research finds a cure for bipolar, there will no longer be a reason for people to use it as an excuse. by the way, i *hate* it when people claim bipolars use their illness as an excuse. :mad2: if they only knew what an awful illness this was, perhaps they'd understand how difficult it is to live with on a daily basis. bipolar is something i wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.

But Bipolar isn't really one thing. It can be evulated as different levels of bipolar. I'd say that you have a strong one, some I know of are very sever and they're not even taking care of themselves. Yea, it's crazy, I understand. But remember, it depends on the bipolar, how strong it is, and the person who has it.

how do you know how severe my bipolar is? you're not my psychiatrist.

but you're right. there are varying degrees of bipolar -- everything from cyclothymia (mild bipolar) to bipolar I (most severe).

and i think it's a shame that some bipolars don't take their meds like they should.

Because they think they can overcome their shit. Sometime they can, sometime they cannot.

My brother had bi polar, he didn't take the meds for a long time...then overdosed them and appearably he died on May 25, 2005. I was at his place to pick him up but he wasn't there, I was wondering where he is. Later, I found out he died when he was taken to the emergency. I miss him dearly.

oh seq. i'm so sorry to hear that. :( please accept my condolences. in my case, i've had symptoms of bipolar I rapid cycling since the early 90s, but was misdiagnosed with major depressive disorder (mdd). it wasn't until i suffered a severe manic/psychotic episode that i was diagnosed as bipolar I rapid cycling and schizoaffective disorder bipolar type. i now take several different meds for my bipolar and am also in bi-weekly therapy. soon i will be joining a support group for those with bipolar.

hey guys. let's lighten up the mood a little. (i apologize for my part in talking about bipolar.) what will you be doing tomorrow for thanksgiving? what was your best or funniest thanksgiving memory and why? i'll be spending the day with my sister and her family. the best thanksgiving i ever had was in 1985 when i had the opportunity to see a long-lost aunt I haven't seen in over a year. the funniest thanksgiving i ever had was the year my mother accidentally dropped the turkey onto the ground while carrying it and a bagful of groceries into the house. since it was the day before thanksgiving, we had to make due with chicken and ham instead. :laugh2:

Thanks, LBG! Time sure flies, doesn't it?

Yep, I posted a thread about that in 2005 about that happened. It was indeed a sad day for me. Thanks, by the way.

Thanks, Hear Again. I hope you will cope with your bi polar with that support group. I'm sure it will help you a lot if you really focus on it. :)

Here is the joke of the morning (my time)

Two dudes walk in to a cafe.

James looked around
and said 'Where are you, Jake'?
Jake said 'yo, I am wearing an pymp invisble pink suit'

dr. jiro,

you'll be happy to know that i'm now wearing my splint -- as uncomfortable as it is.

no, not that. Nothing to do with you guys. its personal

Whew! My grandparents just left and my brother and his girlfriend are both still here enjoying mum's homemade pies, and we are watching the Dallas Cowboys Football game.

We all got quite a kick over the one-handed keyboard that was designed for professional gamers. I still cannot wrap my mind around trying to accurately type with that let alone playing a competitive videogame with it where the timing could come down to milliseconds.

I also had a rather quiet 25th birthday celebration today. My daughter had picked out a neato snoopy shirt for me which I will wear tomorrow. It shows snoopy in the different stages of writing.

We also got our official notices yesterday at work of the company closing its doors January 31st at the latest. They noted that they may hire temporary workers to tear down the machinery and do a final clean-up of the operation before shutting and locking the doors for good. Judging from the freezer it will take a good 2-3 days to get that cleaned out properly and sanitized so it won't mold in there. They will basically have to clean up all the water out of it, remove the ice, sanitize and dry it out completely. If I do not get on at ConAgra or at another poultry processor before Jan. 31st then I will look into the possibility of extending my time with the company through this final cleanup.

It is going to be strange when I return to work on Monday. A lot of the people Ive worked along side for the last year and a half will be gone. I'm willing to bet we will be lucky to run 9 lines on Monday.

I will keep checking back with ConAgra on a weekly if not twice weekly basis to see if they have lifted the hiring freeze so that I can start the application process ASAP.

waiting til I leave at around before 3 pm on way to thanksgiving dinner at the big church. My roommate is over there already picking up free clothes, for kids to play games and crafts, etc before dinner starts at 3:30. We meet at 3:15 there. :)
