I know, shocking aren't I? My parents think I'm the world's leading expert in new technology. I imagine what it's like meeting them! :giggle:

:laugh2: That is a scary thought!

I am about to call it night and go to bed.

We worked only a total of two hours today and we had to stay on the premises for the mandatory four hours. The Tyson plant that was supposed to deliver us two loads somehow bungled it up and needless to say the chicken never arrived. :giggle:

I appreciated the time off as I took the remainder of the day to put in my application for a work-study job on campus as well as checked on the possibility of ConAgra lifting their hiring freeze. I found out it would likely be after Thanksgiving, but I will continue to check back once or twice a week in case anything new comes up there. In the meanwhile I am considering to return to sanitation shift at my current company after the Christmas holiday. Should the company close its doors before I get hired on at ConAgra then I may draw unemployment temporarily or *groan* go to the other local poultry processors such as Wayne Farms or Tyson on nightshift or sanitation. But either way my spring semester tuition is paid for thanks to a nice pell grant, but I need to stay on top of my truck payments and cell phone payments.

my wrist is really starting to bother me again. carpal tunnel s*cks.

This morning was a difficult one. I was getting a lot of shit from an ex-friend, and I chose to cut her out of my life for good. I feel sad about it, but it's for the best.

Try typing less and do some other activities and you'll recover faster or type with one hand, worse case. it's best not to use your hand than use it which will slow down the recovery process.

really? my doctor told me that using my left hand more often will help to strengthen it. if i don't use it, the muscles in my hand will continue to atrophy. i'll have to ask my physical therapist about this. by the way, i am typing one-handed (hence the lowercase lettering) and it's taking me forever and a day to type. lol.

hey shezz,

sometimes that's the best thing we can do for ourselves. i ended up doing the same thing to someone who used to be one of my best friends. she had a habit of complaining constantly and bringing me down, so i decided that it was best for my emotional health if i stopped talking to her. it's difficult to make those kinds of decisions, but better in the long run.

Ah, I see. I remember meeting with a sign language interpreter saying that she had to sign with one hand while using the other hand less, not use it too much. I think you could talk with the physical therapist and see what they think about the Carapel Tunnel thing. Yeah, it does take forever to type with one hand for sure ugh.

perhaps opinions differ from doctor to doctor or person to person. i'm not sure. then again, my doctor understands that i rely on my hands more than sighted people do, so she probably knows i'll end up using my left hand even if she tells me not to. lol.

Yeah, it does differ doctor to doctor who has their opinion and based on their historical experience. Maybe someone here on Alldeaf knows more about carapel tunnel thing so they could probably give you better answer to it than I do. I do know it is painful. :(

yes, if anyone here on ad knows more about it, i'd be interested in the information.

and yes, cts (carpal tunnel syndrome) is quite painful. some of the symptoms of cts include tingling, burning, pain, weakness and a sharp electric-like shock that runs from your hand/wrist up your arm. it's very painful. :(

oh, and i've always had problems with my left arm feeling weak and painful when the seasons change from summer to fall. as a result, my doctor suspects that i may have had cts for a very long time, but didn't know it. because of that, my case of cts progressed to the point where it is considered severe and requires surgery (which i refused because i'd like to try physical therapy first).
